Together with his eldest son, Seol Minjae, Seol Majung was at the department store’s food section, looking at the counter with a displeased expression. The food section in the basement of Seongha Department Store, operated by Seongha Corporation, had a unique feature: Braille was embossed on the shelves where items were placed, along with the names of the food.

To create the Braille, special plastic had to be used instead of regular paper, and it was a cumbersome task to emboss Braille each time the location of a product changed. However, despite the inconvenience, this effort made it easy to spot visually impaired customers during quiet weekday afternoons.

Employees who were unaware that the youngest grandson was visually impaired saw this policy of Seol Majung as merely a promotional effect indicating that the company cared about disabled individuals.

Because this policy did not significantly impact sales and only increased the workload for employees, they thought of it as a promotion highlighting the company’s consideration for people with disabilities.

However, despite the efforts of the employees, Seol Majung, the chairman, was always dissatisfied.

“Coffee is coffee, so what’s ‘beverage’?”

“What?”

Upon Majung’s words, his son stared at him with a tense expression.

“Here, it says ‘beverage’ under coffee. Is this a beverage? It’s coffee.”

Honestly, Chairman Seol Majung was not familiar with Braille. After learning Braille from Woojin who came out of his room after studying it, he himself called a Braille tutor and learned a few words.

However, those few words proved very useful when situations like this arose.

“Chairman, it’s a bit too detailed to mark like this…”

“What do you mean by ‘a bit’? If we can’t properly record these trivial things, how can we record bigger ones?”

Seol Minjae had nothing to say as Majung continued speaking.

However, on the other hand, he was somewhat displeased that his father was only paying attention to such minor things without looking around overall. While he understood his father’s reluctance to feel sorry for his son-in-law, focusing only on these minor details, neglecting the main customer base of the department store and prioritizing efficiency for disabled individuals at a store where the main goal was sales growth seemed disconcerting.

Though it may have caused an issue to install Braille signs, the main profit area for department store sales was still the luxury and jewelry section, as before the Braille signs were implemented.

Despite hearing complaints from the underground food store and going upstairs, President Seol Minjae, who had recently remodeled and upgraded the luxurious space, was finally nervous about showing his father the luxury section he had been longing to reveal.

After the recent remodeling, the space became even more luxurious, and with recent celebrity visits and paparazzi photos circulating, sales had increased.

“Recently, the Gucci store has moved this way, and the Prada store has taken its place in the central area. As soon as you come up the escalator, the jewelry captures customers’ attention…”
While his son was enthusiastically explaining the store next to him, Chairman Seol was attentively looking down at the marble floor.

After a moment, he raised his thick eyebrows and asked, “Where did those blocky blocks go?”

“What?”

“Those bumpy blocks. Where are they?”

He was referring to the Braille blocks for the visually impaired. Seol Minjae looked embarrassed, glancing at the executives behind him, and cautiously replied, “It blurred the aesthetics too much…”

“What?”

Eventually, a commanding voice echoed throughout the entire luxury section.

“At least the path to the restroom should be marked! And when did I say to use yellow? I told you to make it feel like the color is similar to marble!”

“Chairman, why would visually impaired people come here…”

At that moment, Chairman Seol suddenly kicked his son’s calf.

“Don’t affluent families have disabled people?”

“Those households usually call personal shoppers to their homes, Father…”

Seol Minjae unintentionally called Chairman Seol “Father” and glanced at the executives. Despite being the president, it was quite embarrassing in front of the executives.

However, it wasn’t a scene they witnessed just once or twice. The executives, avoiding eye contact with Chairman Seol by mistake, were not particularly surprised.

“If there are disabilities, they should stay at home! Those people also need to get some fresh air! Tear them all down!”

“What?”

“Rip up the floor and lay those blocks again!”

“Chairman! We’ve just finished remodeling and opened not long ago!”

“You punk! I’m the chairman! Do you need to experience being demoted to a regional department store before you come to your senses? Tear it down and lay those blocks again, then submit a report!”

Without looking back, Seol Majung walked toward the elevator, followed diligently by the executives who were watching the chairman’s expressions.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away

This is also on my reread list!

This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.

Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.

But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.

Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.

I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.

The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.

As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
