“Oppa, you’re really amazing, then and now. Did you start this publishing company and bookstore for Woojin? And you’re developing braille books these days? I only pushed for it, but you’re really giving practical help.”

“You provided Woojin with braille books and canes. You even got him audiobooks. We didn’t even think about such things; we were just busy feeding him, putting him to sleep, and preventing him from doing other things. Woojin being able to live like this in society is all thanks to you, Naeun. I really appreciate it. That’s why I feel more sorry for that guy for causing you so much hurt.”

The man who should be apologizing growled whenever he saw her, but when Ji-hyun apologized on behalf of him, Naeun chuckled and changed the subject.

“High school classmates who were close to Woojin in the past want to see him.”

“If he starts going out, he’ll gradually meet friends. Don’t rush. Then, should we go to Woojin’s house?”

Standing up from her seat, Ji-hyun asked, and Naeun, slightly taken aback, asked in return, “Can I go without contacting him in advance?”

“Go there every day at this time and have dinner together.”

“What about breakfast and lunch?”

“I don’t eat breakfast much, and I have lunch with Sooyoung.”

“The house helper’s name is Sooyoung, right?”

At Naeun’s question, Ji-hyun gently smiled and replied, “Yeah, it’s Kim Sooyoung.”

“She looks young…”

“She’s probably a few years younger than Woojin.”

“Really young.”

Although there seemed to be a thorn in her tone, Ji-hyun pretended not to notice and gestured for her to come. Naeun stood up, straightened her messy clothes, and followed Ji-hyun out of the office.

Woojin, who was coming out to the living room at Ji-hyun’s voice, stood still again at the sound of another set of footsteps. This fragrance was…
“I’m back.”

At the tender voice, in Woojin’s mind, a fragmentary face with eyes, nose, and mouth tightly packed into a small face came to mind.

“…How did both of you come together?”

Woojin asked while standing there.

“Let’s sit and talk. Should we talk in your room?”

When Ji-hyun tried to go to Woojin’s room, Woojin walked towards the sofa and said quietly.

“Let’s talk in the living room.”

Perhaps because Naeun had come, Ji-hyun also went to the sofa and sat down, and Naeun, sitting on the ‘ㄱ’-shaped sofa, took her place.

Even after sitting down, the three of them remained silent for a while. Ji-hyun, who was watching Woojin and Naeun’s reactions, smiled awkwardly and spoke.

“Well, do you want to drink something? Is there any drink in the fridge?”

“It’s okay, oppa. I had coffee at your company earlier, so I don’t need anything.”

As Naeun declined by raising her hand, Woojin, with a somewhat annoyed expression, asked, “Why did you come?”

Ji-hyun spoke seriously, smoothing her voice.

“You were planning to republish the , right? I heard you wanted to produce it as an e-book on Diver. I think it’s a good idea. Many young people read fantasy, and nowadays, young people read more online than paper books. What do you think?”

Upon hearing this, Woojin crossed his long legs, put his elbow on the armrest of the sofa, and supported his chin with his hand.

With even his sunken pumpkin-colored eyes showing excellence, Naeun stared at Woojin as if watching a pictorial, not taking her eyes off him.

The beautiful child, just like before, who seemed to be looking at herself when their eyes met, even unknowingly blushed.

After being lost in thought for a moment, Woojin slowly spoke.

“…Do as you please, Seol Ji-hyun. I lost interest in that a long time ago…”

When he could see, during the time when he was living a life of self-conceit, he wrote that. The time when he secretly contracted with a publishing company and exchanged manuscripts by email felt like a dream.

However, Seol Woojin, who could see, felt like a different person from his current self, and Woojin deliberately lost interest in everything he did back then.

The surprising thing is Naeun’s interest.

She was his first reader. When she showed it to her before submitting the manuscript to the publishing company, she always complained that it was childish, but why is she so proactive about a work that has been around for ten years now? Perhaps because she works at the company he attends?

Suddenly, in Woojin’s room, a loud noise was heard, and Sooyoung, with her short hair, opened the door and popped out.

Although the sound must have been heard, Woojin showed no reaction, but Ji-hyun and Naeun were surprised and looked at her.

Sooyoung also looked at them with a frozen expression. Especially, she stared at Naeun, who looked as innocent as her voice. More beautiful than my sister-in-law…

Unlike the gaze that seemed to fall in love with Sooyoung, Naeun’s face, looking at Sooyoung, was gradually turning muddy.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
