He thought she had run outside, but then he heard another crashing sound from the living room. She must have been quite startled.

Exiting the bathtub, he hastily dried himself with a towel. Then he heard a faint voice.

“Soo-young? Are you okay? Soo-young!”

Kneeling on the tile floor, he reached out to where the sound was coming from and felt a small phone. It seemed she had dropped it. Picking it up, he heard Ji-hyeon’s voice coming from it, filled with concern for Soo-young.
Did she drop this phone? When Woo-jin picked up the phone, he could hear Ji-hyeon’s voice seeping out from inside.

“Have you seen Woo-jin? Is he okay? Soo-young!”

Suddenly, the call disconnected, probably due to a wrong button press. It seemed to ring again shortly after, but Woo-jin, not knowing how to answer a phone without voice settings, couldn’t pick it up.

He tried touching the screen roughly guessing where to touch, but it disconnected again. He decided he would have to ask the woman to call back and, wrapping a towel around his waist, headed to the dressing room.

He wondered if the woman might enter again, but rationalized that anyone in their right mind wouldn’t come back after causing such a commotion.

However, the woman apparently wasn’t in her right senses. As he was getting dressed in the dressing room, he could hear her muttering excitedly in the bathroom.

“Where did it go? Where’s the body?”

He wondered if she had finally lost it. Why was she looking for a corpse in his bathroom?

At least she didn’t seem hurt, or did she hit her head? Maybe she thought he was dead? He did shout, and had previously splashed water.

After ensuring his clothes were on properly, Woo-jin slowly headed towards the bathroom.

A similar incident had happened before. Back then, he had really tried to end his life. Lying in the bathtub, almost losing consciousness from medication, Ji-hyeon had entered and awakened him.

After being hospitalized and undergoing gastric lavage, he was confined in a ward for a week. The constant visits and touching by others during that time stressed him to near death.

Somehow Ji-hyeon convinced Grandfather to let Woo-jin stay in this house after being discharged. Since then, a helper came during the day, and Ji-hyeon visited in the evening.

Although he was uncomfortable with strangers, the thought of being watched stopped him from making any rash decisions. He also got busier with publishing work.

He could understand why Ji-hyeon asked the woman to check on him. Perhaps she recalled that time and worried he might be overwhelmed with guilt.

Especially since today was his father’s death anniversary. In the evening, his talkative relatives would gather, feigning sympathy while gossiping about him. The thought of them discussing his father enraged him. What do they know!

As he was getting dressed, the woman behind him, thinking Woo-jin had seen her undressed, yelled at him, calling him a pervert.

“How can I be a pervert if I can’t see anything? I’ve told her countless times that I’m blind.”

However, being treated like a normal man by her didn’t feel entirely bad.

Maybe that’s why he wasn’t too upset, even lending her clothes from his wardrobe, something he normally detested. It felt like his own sanity was slipping since she started coming into his house. People say you die when you change.

Sitting in the living room, waiting for her to finish dressing, he felt a familiar presence and scent next to him. Extending his hand, Woo-jin offered her the phone.

“Call Ji-hyeon. Tell her I’m alive.”

“Okay,” Soo-young replied, taking the phone and pressing one of the missed calls.

“Soo-young! Are you okay?” Ji-hyeon asked immediately upon answering.

“Yes, I’m fine. Woo-jin is also okay. He couldn’t hear the phone because he was taking a bath,” she said, her face flushing and feeling a catch in her throat at the mention of the word ‘bath’.
While Soo-young was still praying, a loud crashing sound came from Woo-jin’s room.

She was too scared to check what was happening, but she assumed he must be extremely angry. The sound from his mouth didn’t seem human at all.

Soo-young wished she could escape the house, but her clothes were all wet.

She thought about keeping some clothes at this house since there had been incidents before, like when she spilled ramen soup.

She tried to report back to Ji-hyeon but realized her phone was missing. She wondered if she had dropped it in the bathroom.

Soo-young cautiously approached Woo-jin’s room to check inside.

She slightly opened the door but found the room empty. She thought her phone might be in the bathroom but was too scared to enter.

Suddenly, she panicked, worrying that Woo-jin might step on her phone and fall, injuring himself.

Her mind conjured a dramatic news headline involving her being accused of causing his death.

“No!” she exclaimed and rushed to the bathroom door. She hesitated but eventually opened it, only to find it empty.

“Where is it? Where’s the body?” she muttered, puzzled.

Then she heard Woo-jin’s voice behind her, causing her to scream and fall. She didn’t even have time to feel pain.

Woo-jin, now in a V-neck T-shirt and sweatpants, looked down at her with his piercing pumpkin-colored eyes. He held her phone in his hand.

“Why are you entering rooms freely now?”

Soo-young explained that Ji-hyeon had instructed her to check on him.

Woo-jin took the phone, tersely spoke with Ji-hyeon, and then handed it back to Soo-young, requesting food.

“I want tteokbokki,” he said, blaming his stress on her.

Soo-young silently ordered food, while Woo-jin leaned back on the sofa, seemingly putting his arm around her.

After the memorial service, Ji-hyeon arrived at Woo-jin’s house past 11 PM. She noticed familiar shoes at the entrance.

In the kitchen, she saw a mess of kimbap ingredients and half-eaten kimbap, which was unlike Woo-jin’s usual tidiness.

In the living room, she was shocked to see Woo-jin asleep on the sofa, with Soo-young also asleep in his arms, wearing only his shirt.

As a result, Su Qingwan is punished.

From then on, Su Qingwan sees Lu Yuner as a “thorn in his side”.

But before long, this “thorn” becomes the person he cherishes most, and he goes to great lengths to win Lu Yuner’s affection.

Mini scene 1:

One day, the sun is high in the sky but Su Qingwan still hasn’t gotten up for class.

Servant Xiaoyuan: “Young prince, it’s time for class. You’ll be late otherwise.”

Su Qingwan says arrogantly: “I’m not going. I am the esteemed prince, my status is so noble, why should I suffer this hardship? Besides, isn’t learning all this just to please women? Hmph, they’re not worthy!”

Mini scene 2:

After Su Qingwan falls for someone, he completely changes. He no longer skips class and diligently learns how to be a good husband and father. But he discovers that Sister Yuner is always surrounded by admirers.

Drunk and overcome with jealousy one day, he clings to Lu Yuner, crying beautifully like a pear blossom in the rain.

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan likes Sister Yuner.”

Lu Yuner: “Young prince, you’re drunk.”

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan isn’t drunk. Qingwan likes Sister Yuner, likes you so much, likes you to bits…” Before he can finish, Lu Yuner’s eyes flash with emotion and she leans in closer.

[Reading Guide]

1. The female lead is gentle, gracious, humble and polite but not weak. The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

2. 1v1, a bit torturous in the beginning but definitely sweet later on.
