While picking up rice grains with her chopsticks, Soo-young’s gaze remained fixed on Woo-jin.

A man, who stayed at home yet meticulously maintained his physique, had just showered. He exuded a different fragrance than the sweaty smell from before and ate his rice and side dishes heartily.

“Why aren’t you eating?” he asked, lifting his head.

Startled, Soo-young exclaimed, “I am eating!”

“I can’t hear the sound of the chopsticks or chewing.”

“Do you have some kind of superpower? How can you hear everything so well?”

“If you knew how noisily you eat, you wouldn’t accuse me of having superpowers.”

Soo-young glared at him incredulously.

“That’s a lie, right?”

“What is?”

“That you can’t see.”

“Didn’t you see when I showed you the bruise from bumping into something? Or were you too busy thinking perverted thoughts?”

“I didn’t think anything perverted!”

Soo-young put down her chopsticks a bit too forcefully, but Woo-jin seemed unconvinced.

“Why do you always say such odd things?”

“You talk like you can see. How else would you know if I’ve gained or lost weight?”

“Lean people move agilely, speak sharply. You’re sluggish and slow in everything.”

He didn’t admit that he liked her slowness.

People usually panicked around Woo-jin, trying to offer unnecessary help, but Soo-young was different. She didn’t constantly watch him or rush around him. Her relaxed demeanor around him was comforting.

But he hated to reveal such feelings and made an odd remark instead.

“You eat a lot for someone so slow. Isn’t it natural to gain weight?”

A deep sigh came from across the table.

“Look at this! You’re bluffing about not being able to see. How else would you know whether I eat a lot or a little?”

“I know by how quickly the side dishes, which Seol Ji-hyun happily said were reducing, vanish.”

Soo-young felt embarrassed, like a poor girl working in a rich house, secretly eating meat pancakes as snacks.

“But still, I’m slim for the amount I eat.”

“I’ve felt your face. Stop lying.”

Remembering his fingers on her face, Soo-young blushed slightly.

“How did it feel when you touched it?”

“Your cheeks were plump. You’re not young enough to have baby fat, are you?”

He couldn’t really tell if her cheeks were plump. All he remembered was their soft, warm touch.

He rubbed his fingers several times afterward, trying not to forget the sensation.

Unaware of Woo-jin’s thoughts, Soo-young glared at him for calling her cheeks plump.

Simultaneously, she thought she should start exercising. Was she already gaining weight with age?

She had been happy about having a handsome employer, but it wasn’t all good. A handsome employer expected his employee to be attractive too.

She was briefly relieved he couldn’t see her. If he could, he would boast about his superiority and make comparisons, which was an unpleasant thought.

“So, is that why you exercise so fiercely?”

Soo-young asked, grumbling. Woo-jin fixed his pumpkin-colored eyes on her, puzzled.

“No, it just seems like you’re running as if it’s a matter of life and death. Why such intense exercise?”

“To die.”

“What?”
“Exercising to death is better than suicide, isn’t it?”

Woo-jin’s words, although frightening and sad, were uttered so casually, making Soo-young feel even more afraid and sad for him. She spoke in a subdued tone, “Don’t talk about suicide so lightly. Do you know how irresponsible that is?”

Following her response, the sound of a spoon scooping soup filled the air, but Woo-jin, on the other hand, stopped eating and quietly looked in her direction.

For the first time, he considered whether his words might have hurt her.

Woo-jin silently continued to eat, focusing intently on the sounds of Soo-young’s spoon and chewing amidst the heavy silence.

“Do you know what this Friday is? Hyung-su will come to pick me up.”

Technically, it was Mr. Kim, the driver, but it was obvious Woo-jin wouldn’t open the door for him, so Yeon-seo decided to accompany him.

Woo-jin’s eyebrows furrowed and, putting his spoon down with a clatter, he said, “I’m not going.”

“Why not? Come and have a drink.”

“When did father ever drink? Why force him to drink alcohol after his death!”

“Woo-jin.”

“I’m not going. Tell grandfather I won’t come.”

“Woo-jin, grandfather misses you too. He’s getting old and his strength isn’t what it used to be…”

“Do you think I don’t know? Every time he sees me, he glares as if I murdered his son. His breathing changes!”

“Woo-jin, you’re misunderstanding. Grandfather doesn’t feel that way.”

Despite Ji-hyun’s sympathetic words, Woo-jin abruptly stood up and left the kitchen.

Ji-hyun sighed, seeing Woo-jin’s untouched meal, regretting he should have waited until after eating to talk about it.

Friday was the anniversary of his uncle’s death. Despite knowing it hurt his grandson, Grandfather Seol insisted on holding the memorial service each year.

Despite Woo-jin’s guilt and struggle, Grandfather Seol argued that nothing could compare to a father’s heartache at his son’s memorial.

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation

One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:

To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.

But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.

It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.

This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.

Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.

Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.

“Let’s divorce!”

***

Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.

Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?

But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.

Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.

Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.

In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.

Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”

Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.

He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”

***

Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.

But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.

“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”

Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?

Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?
