“Don’t move.”
Carefully, Woo-jin’s fingertips began to trace the contours of her face.
The sensation was ticklish yet strangely thrilling, causing So-young to stiffen up.
His hand moved from the outline of her face to her eyebrows and nose bridge.
His touch was light, as if handling fragile glass. When his fingertips reached her lips, both his hand and her face jerked away.
“Ah, well, how is it? Not a lie, right?” So-young hurriedly said with a flushed face.
Woo-jin straightened up, stuttering, “It’s a lie. Why is a woman’s face so big? I thought I was touching a man’s face.”
“Hey!”
So-young clenched her fists in disbelief. How could he say that to a woman!
Meanwhile, Woo-jin gulped down his cola, running his thumb over the fingertips that had touched her face.

Judging by touch, she was smaller and more delicate than she claimed. Her eyebrows were neatly arranged, and her nose bridge felt refreshingly straight.
And her lips… they reminded him of the gummy bears he used to eat as a child. Soft and squishy, probably just as sweet.
His stomach felt bloated from gulping down the cola too fast. Woo-jin hastily stood up.
So-young asked where he was going without finishing his pizza, but he didn’t respond, rushing back to his room.
The thoughts running through his head were now uncontrollable.
It was only early October, but snow had fallen. It wasn’t a heavy snowfall, more like sleet, but it was definitely snow. Seemed like an unusual weather anomaly.
While everyone marveled at the early snow, So-young had no leisure to enjoy it. She was late for her part-time job.
So-young hadn’t slept a wink last night, repeatedly recalling Woo-jin’s hand tracing her face. Every time she closed her eyes, she felt his touch, making it impossible to sleep. Her face felt like ice, yet his hand was so warm, almost scorchingly hot.
As a result, she had dozed off in the library, snoring loudly, until someone woke her up for being too noisy. Looking at the time, it was already 2 PM. Even if she hurried, it would take at least 30 minutes to get there.
Without Woo-jin’s contact information, she had no choice but to run from the subway station. She only realized she hadn’t bought lunch when she arrived at his front door.
‘Well, there are the side dishes his sister-in-law brought yesterday. When I thought they were from his girlfriend, I didn’t feel like eating them, but now that I know his sister-in-law brought them, maybe I should eat them before they spoil.’

Entering the house, she found it as silent as a grave. Wondering if Woo-jin might be sleeping in the living room for ’employee welfare,’ she checked but found no one. Peeking into Woo-jin’s room, So-young inadvertently let out a loud exclamation, “Wow!” The snowfall view from the 10th-floor window was spectacular. With nothing obstructing the view, the snowfall seemed incredibly vivid.
She opened the window wide to better enjoy the scene, welcoming the crisp breeze.
“I’m late,” a familiar voice came from behind. She wanted to apologize, but excitement took over.
“Did you see the snow? It’s incredible!”
‘Goldfish brain?’ Woo-jin sighed lightly. How many times did he have to explain that he couldn’t see? Suddenly, he felt her fragrance right in front of him, startling him as she approached without warning.
Woo-jin stepped back. These unexpected movements always caught him off guard, but what was once annoying now thrilled him slightly.
“Shall we go outside?” she suggested.
It was the ‘outside’ rather than ‘together’ that caught his attention.
“Why?”
“Let’s go out and feel the snow. It’s a weather anomaly. We have to experience it, especially since you can’t see. You need to feel it.”

“Why do we need to experience an anomaly?”
“Because it’s an anomaly! They don’t happen regularly, so we should experience it!”
“I’m not working?”
“Come on, just 5 minutes outside. What do you say?”
“No.”
She didn’t expect immediate agreement, but his adamance surprised her.
“Why not?”
“I hate going outside.”
“Why?”
“Wanna show everyone me stumbling around, unable to see?”

So-young sighed in disbelief, causing Woo-jin’s brows to furrow even more.
“What’s that sigh for?”
“Being confident is good, but thinking everyone’s watching you is a bit much, don’t you think?”
“What?”
“People are too busy to care whether you can see, stumble, or walk straight. No one’s looking, but you think everyone is. That’s celebrity syndrome.”
So-young’s words left Woo-jin’s face flushed with embarrassment.
Does this girl lack empathy? Has she ever been in my shoes? Has she experienced the struggle of navigating a world where she can’t see an inch in front of her?
Woo-jin felt a surge of frustration. He would have yelled if it had been anyone else, but somehow, in front of her, he just bottled it up inside.
If he expressed all these thoughts aloud, she might accuse him of whining like a child.
Suddenly, he turned away, and she shouted from behind, “So, you really won’t go outside? It’s a weather anomaly!”
Her voice, full of hope, abruptly stopped at the sound of the door slamming shut.

But then, does he never go outside at all? So-young wondered, lowering her previously raised eyebrows, gazing thoughtfully at his room.
No matter how handsome or wealthy, she mused, a disability could still diminish one’s confidence. Did his family know he lived like this? Barely eating, not going out, seemingly sleepless at night. She thought someone should care for him, but given his difficult personality, managing him at home might be a challenge.
Turning back to the window, her eyes softened. Perhaps it’s the high view, but the snow falling through the sunlight looked like a blessing from another world.
She could experience it alone, yet she strangely wished to share it with him, to let him feel the warm sun and the cold snow.
Feeling disheartened, So-young’s stomach rumbled, reminding her to eat quickly. Woo-jin must be hungry too.
She resolved to ensure Woo-jin was fed before engaging with him in the future and slowly headed to the kitchen.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
