At that, Woo-jin replied with a stern expression.

“If you’re so worried, come. Why worry when you won’t come anyway?”

“It’s, it’s, it’s another spite. What, do I not come because I don’t want to? If Mom goes alone, it’ll be lonely. It’s not like I’m going to a nice place… If I go with her, she won’t feel as lonely while snacking in the rest area.”

“Who said that?”

“…Do you want to go together?”

Su-yeong subtly asked. At that, Woo-jin exclaimed in shock.

“Are you crazy?”

“Really, was the question so absurd that I received such a reaction? Does Su-woo-jin go to an academy?”

“Academy?”

“An academy that teaches you how to speak to make the other person feel bad.”

Thinking about how Su-yeong would subtly upset Su-woo-jin with these words, she said quietly.

“Shall I go with you?”

He asked nonchalantly, “What academy?”

“An academy that teaches how to speak to make the other person feel bad.”

While thinking about how Su-yeong’s words might have hurt Su-woo-jin, he said in a calm voice.

“You don’t need to go to an academy after getting off. You’ll know once you try.”

Ah, he’s not good at speaking yet, she thought as Su-yeong picked up the fried chicken with a fork and took a bite.

Whether the fork pierced through the chicken and touched the plate underneath or not, there was a squeaking sound, and Woo-jin’s expression crumpled.

“It’s an expensive plate. Be careful.”

“Tsk! Using an expensive plate. Such a spendthrift.”

As Su-yeong chewed on the fried chicken, grumbling, Woo-jin sighed.

This woman, she’s not a woman. She’s a high school boy.

But why in the world…?

“Although it’s unlikely to happen, if I go, your mother will see me. Is that okay? If she knows I’m visually impaired, won’t she bow or something?”

Looking at her, although not seeing her, Woo-jin asked, and Su-yeong coolly replied.

“She already knows, so she won’t bow. And what’s there to bow about?”

“I told her?”

Surprisingly, Woo-jin’s voice raised.

“Yes. I told her before.”

“What did you say?”

He looked at her again, checking her expression.
“I guess you haven’t mentioned it, right? I think you need a manager just because you can’t see. Since then, you haven’t touched coming here.”

At her words, Woo-jin’s lips slightly parted. Shouldn’t he pry more into this…?

“Seol Woo-jin.”

“Yeah?”

“Later, when we go for a longer walk, come to my house. I’ll buy something delicious. Do you know the Fox restaurant in our neighborhood that makes tasty rice bowl dishes? They also deliver, and it’s really delicious. They have over 20 types of rice bowls. I’ve tried 12 so far, so if I eat 8 more, I’ll conquer the entire menu. Originally, it was supposed to be just 4 more, but there were 4 new items on the menu. Tsk.”

However, Woo-jin remained silent. Come to my house… He had never heard such words even in middle and high school.

Even though they hung out together, not a single friend had invited him to their house.

Na-eun always came to Woo-jin’s house, but he had never been to Na-eun’s house.

“Oh, by the way, just so you know, my house is much smaller than here. So you have to walk carefully. There are many places to bump into. I tried walking around my house with my eyes covered once. But I bumped into so many things that my knees started hurting later.”

“…Why did you practice that?”

“Well, just…”

Why did she practice that? There wasn’t a specific reason. She was just curious about how Seol Woo-jin would feel at her house.

Su-yeong stared directly into Woo-jin’s eyes. Golden pupils that precisely met the gaze, even though he claimed not to see… In the dark, they might appear brown, but under sunlight or light, those pupils were undeniably golden.

Like something out of a cartoon…

“I was just curious about you, Seol Woo-jin.”

Looking straight into those eyes, Su-yeong spoke calmly.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
