Fortunately, Fernando didn’t ignore her words. That alone made Hana let out a sigh of relief. Now, she had to somehow convince him.

Hana placed her hand on his arm and met his eyes. They had been icy cold just moments ago, but now they were utterly hollow.

“And be careful around Prince Ludvi.”

This wasn’t something Prince Ludvi had ordered, but Hana felt she absolutely had to say it.

She didn’t care about the throne rivalry between Prince Ludvi and the Crown Prince. As long as Fernando remained safe, nothing else mattered.

“Fernando. I’ve always been waiting for you. So I’ll stay right here—I’ll keep waiting for you to come to me.”

Hana’s hand slid down from Fernando’s arm, brushing lightly against his before slipping away. Unable to touch him further, she left with a pang of regret, opening the door and stepping out.

After closing the door behind her, Hana walked quickly down the corridor. Once she felt far enough from Fernando’s room, she leaned against the wall, gasping for breath.
