“What on earth is going on here?”

Nick grumbled as he ordered his knight to move the luggage.

“Ever since His Highness asked if there was any space around Mithri, I thought something was off. What on earth is all this about?”

“But maybe there really is a space.”

Bazon retorted to Nick’s complaint. Naturally curious, Bazon had earlier suggested that the ducal house send an investigation team to verify.

“But how can we go there in just one carriage? What if we end up having to sleep outdoors? We can’t possibly let the Crown Prince sleep outside.”

When Bazon refused to share his frustration, Nick pulled someone else into the conversation.

“Heishi, what do you think?”

“I… Well, perhaps His Highness has something in mind?”

Heishi, who hadn’t voiced a single objection to the Crown Prince’s words from the start, seemed thoroughly indifferent. As Heishi chuckled awkwardly, his thoughts suddenly drifted to the women.

“But if we do end up sleeping outdoors, won’t the young ladies sleep inside the carriage?”

Though it was a fairly reasonable point, Nick ignored both Heishi and Bazon—who wouldn’t echo his complaints—and walked away.

The men who had ordered knights to move their luggage gathered together to talk, while the women remained near their own belongings.

“This one should be enough.”

Etienne opened a single bag and reorganized the items she’d brought from the mansion. Having assumed they’d be using a carriage, she’d packed thoroughly, but now that things had turned out this way, she halved her luggage.
