Clutching her throbbing head, Alicia sat up and wiped the tears still damp on her cheeks.

If her dreams were going to leave such traces, she wished at least she could remember what she’d dreamed.

“Shall I call the physician for you?”

Amy, who had deliberately brought cold wash water, asked while checking Alicia’s pale complexion.

“It could just be accumulated fatigue.”

“It’s already been a week since you returned from your journey.”

Washing her face and carefully massaging her eyes with the cold water, Alicia said as she dried her face with a clean towel.

Her reflection in the mirror looked exactly like a swollen frog.

“There’s no such thing as a frog that pretty in the whole world.”

Mina firmly replied to Alicia’s muttering.

After eating the simple breakfast Mina had brought, Alicia took an ice pack from Tilly and placed it over her eyes.

This had been her routine for the past week.

Though the swelling had gone down, the redness remained—anyone glancing in the mirror would clearly see the face of someone who had just wept bitterly.

Shaking her head, Alicia admitted that even cold compresses couldn’t fix this, and gently applied some ointment Tilly had given her to the irritated areas.

Normally, she’d stop here and return to bed to rest—but from today onward, she had to move quickly.
