“Aaah. This can’t be happening.”

“…Madam.”

“It can’t be our Jaehyuk who’s dying, not that woman. I, I have to go see. I-I have to go to the hospital.”

It was Taesu who grabbed Madam Jung, who was trying to go out without even properly dressing.

“You can’t go now.”

“Why? I’m his mother, why can’t I go?”

When Madam Jung got angry, Taesu firmly pulled her back.

“There are already people stationed around the hospital. Moreover, Miss Yoon was arrested at the scene, and for some reason, Secretary Shin was taken away this morning. The atmosphere is not normal for returning.”

“What’s that, what does that have to do with meeting my son?”

When Taesu held Madam Jung’s face, he spoke firmly.

“Get a grip. Madam. It means that it can be revealed that we were the ones who committed this crime. You could become a criminal who tried to kill your son. And, even the incident from last time can be exposed.”

“I, I never told anyone to kill my son. If you say that, you said that. Choi Arin too. You guys mishandled the situation. I didn’t tell him to kill my son, it was Heeuna!”

Taesu shook Madam Jung roughly by the shoulders.

“Get a grip. Anyway, it was you who gave the order for this. So, find a way to survive. If you die, I die too.”

Madam Jung’s face was filled with despair.

“I, I just wanted my son to be well…”

Taesu let go of Madam Jung roughly. With the recoil, she staggered to the ground. Madam Jung’s body began to tremble like a shivering tree.

“No. I can’t have done that. It’s not because of me, because of me that my son turned out like that. It can’t be because of me.”

Madam Jung shook like a person standing naked in the Siberian wilderness. Clinging to her trembling body, she began to speak like a person startled.

“Listen to me well, Madam. Right now, the only thing you can do is pretend not to know anything. That’s how we survive.”

“…”

Madam Jung completely forgot about Jaehyuk’s wrongdoing. As she shook her body, unable to regain her composure, Taesu forcefully slapped her.

“Sigh. Let me give you some time. You must not collapse like this, Madam. Remember, Madam. We are absolutely fine, you know? I only did what you told me to do. So if my guilt is proven, it means your guilt has already been revealed. Don’t forget that you and I are one body.”

Even at Taesu’s words, Madam Jung shook her head violently like a startled person.

“…Get a grip. Ha.”

Taesu coldly watched Madam Jung’s appearance and left the room.

A few days passed since Jaehyuk was admitted.

Arin left home to visit him. As she came out of the elevator and went outside the building, a woman came walking towards her with a fierce momentum.

“You are…”
“It’s because of you. If you weren’t by Jaehyuk oppa’s side, he wouldn’t have ended up like this! Why were you by his side without even understanding the situation? Why!”

It was Min Yujin. Upon hearing the news of Jaehyuk’s accident, she immediately headed to the hospital, but she couldn’t see his face. He was an emergency patient with restricted visitation.

Angry Min Yujin waited at Jaehyuk and Arin’s apartment for Arin to come out.

“I told you. Understand the situation. I knew it, it’s all because of you. You devoured my oppa!”

Arin didn’t let go of Min Yujin’s hand, shaking her body forcefully. Because what Min Yujin was saying felt like the right thing.

‘It’s because of me… If I hadn’t stuck by Oppa’s side… Oppa wouldn’t have ended up like this.’

A police officer said that this accident wasn’t a simple traffic accident.

Even though Eunah claimed it was her fault, Arin couldn’t erase the thought that if Jaehyuk’s accident was not an accident but had malicious intent, the reason was because of her.

“What are we going to do? What will happen to Jaehyuk oppa!”

People looked out through the windows at the commotion outside. Some were taking pictures of the two. The shadows Arin secretly planted near Jaehyuk moved. Some of the operatives entered the building, and someone approached those taking pictures from the outside. It was to prevent the situation from turning into news.

Min Yujin’s sharp words, tainted with malice, became a dagger and flew into her heart.

“You should have left, shouldn’t have existed. If you knew you weren’t needed by oppa, you should have pretended not to know. Your greed devoured my oppa. Understand?”

Other than thinking that Min Yujin’s words were all correct, Arin couldn’t think of anything else.

“Save him. Save oppa, please save him!”

Arin looked down at Min Yujin, who was holding onto her, with vacant eyes.

“Say something, what will happen to oppa. It doesn’t matter. Even if he doesn’t become mine, it’s okay. So please save him.”

Although Min Yujin’s expression towards Jaehyuk was twisted, she genuinely loved Jaehyuk.

Tears flowed down Arin’s cheeks.

“Are you okay?”

A police officer found Eunah, who came to the hospital again today, and approached her. The police officer’s face also looked very haggard.

“I have nothing to be okay about.”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
