Trapped in the Mad Duke's Snare (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 41
Adeline sat perched on the windowsill, gazing outside.
The heavy downpour that had been falling without pause had eased slightly, now drizzling softly.
Because of this unexpected autumn monsoon, groans of distress echoed not only across Torpeo territory but throughout the Solatarius Empire.
The situation was quite serious—even ominous rumors circulated that the gods were furious and punishing them.
Yet for Adeline, this torrential rain was an opportunity.
Cassis had said he would go inspect the villages in the Duke Torpeo’s domain that had suffered flood damage.
She believed the perfect time to escape was when the duke was away from the manor.
Besides, the rain seemed to have let up a bit.
Now that the relentless seasonal rain had slightly abated, Adeline resolved to venture into town.
She looked down at the letter held in her hands.
A letter she had written herself, having Becky fetch the stationery—it was meant for Heiro.
All she needed now was the duke’s permission to go into town and send the letter.
With determination, she rose from her seat and headed toward the study where the duke was.
After a brief knock, she opened the door upon hearing his voice invite her in.
He temporarily removed his reading glasses and set them down.

What does he say about fatherhood, and then rejoice that she aborted Hiro’s child? Is he stupid? He knows perfectly well that if she’s pregnant, it’s his child, the vile bastard.
Luckily she didn’t enter the cave, otherwise it would have collapsed with her inside.
How vile and despicable he is! Adeline is innocent and kind, she didn’t leave him alone, and he’s a despicable person who misunderstands her.
