The Duke quickly untied the beautifully tied curtains and shut them before Severus could get any closer. He needed to redirect Adeline’s attention to himself.

“The sunlight is too dazzling.”

As he abruptly drew the curtains, Adeline looked at the Duke with startled eyes.

“It’s harmful to the eyes.”

To the Duke, the harmful thing wasn’t the sunlight. It was the man capturing Adeline’s attention.

Misunderstanding Adeline’s fearful glances, the Duke thought he had perfectly blocked her view.

‘Why would he choose the terrace outside the window where we’re sitting?’

Beyond the fluttering chiffon curtains, the silhouette of a robust man appeared. The Duke tightly tied the curtains, jealousy flaring at the sight of the perfect silhouette of the man.

Unaware that he was Adeline’s father, Duke Credion, the Duke resented even the thin curtains.

“Sigh.”

Adeline, who had been agitated by the Duke’s approach, felt her energy drain at the Duke’s actions.

She let out a sigh involuntarily.

To the Duke, this seemed to confirm his misunderstanding.

‘Sighing because I blocked her view of that man?’

He had heard she was fleeing from someone, and now Adeline seemed captivated by another man. He looked at her with resentful eyes.

Outside the restaurant.

A knight approached the Duke.

“Your Grace, everything is ready. We should depart.”

When the Duke reached the restaurant window, he saw the drawn curtains.

He was irked by the man’s rude behavior inside.

However, persuaded by the knight’s reminder that they needed to leave now to keep the Crown Prince’s appointment, the Duke left without hesitation.

“Let’s go.”

Shortly after the Duke drew the curtains and not long after the Duke’s figure disappeared, the Duke and Adeline relaxed their guard in different directions.

Today was a shock for the Duke.

Adeline, who had stayed by his side despite her lost memories.

He had never considered that she might harbor feelings for another man and leave him.

But Adeline’s behavior today was enough to unsettle the Duke.

She was greatly disturbed at the sight of that man, clutched her throat, and even seemed longing at the end.

For the first time, the Duke felt fear.

He couldn’t let Adeline be taken away by someone else. He wanted to ensure she was entirely his.

Today’s events made him desperately wish for his lost memories.
‘If I had my memories, Adeline wouldn’t have looked elsewhere.’

“But why are we still lovers?”

“Ah. I was going to submit it to the temple, but you fell ill…”

‘The marriage vow!’

He resolved to hurry the drafting of the marriage vow with Adeline.

Exiting the restaurant, the sun had nearly reached the horizon.

“The sun has set already.”

“Indeed. We should head back now.”

Concerns arose about the lateness of the hour, given the distance to their destination.

Though being with the Duke, the journey back to the villa wouldn’t be scary.

While walking through the city, admiring the red sunset, Adeline stopped in front of an inn.

‘That’s right, Hailo must have sent a letter.’

She recalled her arrival in Horn, fleeing in the middle of the night.

She remembered sending a letter to Hailo from this inn where she briefly stayed.

Adeline intended to contact again but had completely forgotten, preoccupied with the Duke brandishing a sword and losing his memory.

‘Should I go in and ask about the letter? Or not?’

Adeline hesitated, stopped in her tracks.

She wanted to enter the inn immediately to retrieve the letter, but she was concerned about the Duke accompanying her.

“Why? Did you forget something?”

The Duke approached the halted Adeline, asking curiously.

“Oh my, isn’t that Del? Right?”

A melodic voice came from behind them.

Turning around, they saw a middle-aged woman approaching. She was the innkeeper where Adeline had stopped.

“It’s been a month. Oh, Del, there are letters for you!”

Adeline wanted to leave quickly, but the innkeeper told her to wait and disappeared.

Soon, the innkeeper returned, handing Adeline several white envelopes.

“He sends letters every week! Ho ho. But there’s no one here to reply. I wondered how to deliver them.”

Adeline regretted momentarily forgetting the innkeeper’s tendency to be overly talkative.

Glancing at the Duke, his expression shifted from curiosity to hardening.

She felt an urgent need to leave.

“Well, thank you. Then, this…”

Just as she was about to say goodbye.

“I thought the sender of these letters was Del’s lover. I assumed it was someone worrying from afar. Is this gentleman your lover?”

The innkeeper’s tactless question continued. At the mention of a lover, the Duke’s brow furrowed.

He turned his gaze from the innkeeper to Adeline, his eyes asking what it meant.

‘Just a friend! Only a friend.’

Adeline, hastily stuffing the letters, grabbed the Duke’s hand and hurried away.

She couldn’t show him the letters, not knowing their contents.

Though she felt the Duke’s suspicious gaze, Adeline pretended not to notice.

Adeline’s face felt like it would burn under the Duke’s intense stare.

Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife

I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro

When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.

After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.

Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.

Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.

At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.

Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.

The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.

He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.

[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]
