“Huh? Sir Warton. What did you just say?”

“Your Grace is going to do what with whom?”

Instead of answering, Dean and Martin shot back with questions, staring at Warton with stunned expressions.

Then Dean burst out laughing loudly. “Pffft!”

“Whew! Sir Warton! Please use your imagination in a way that matches your size. You’re coming up with all sorts of romantic fantasies.”

Dean kept laughing, waving his hands dismissively as if he’d just heard something utterly absurd, but Warton’s frown refused to fade.

Warton gulped down his beer, slammed the mug down with a “Clang!” and wiped his lips with the back of his other hand.

“Even if we agreed to transfer the rights to the Great Plains! The other party is still that very princess who issued the Edict. Given His Grace’s temperament, he’d sooner starve to death than live side by side with such a wicked woman! Didn’t it ever strike either of you as strange?”

Warton strained his voice until veins stood out on his neck, desperately seeking agreement from Dean and Martin.

But Martin remained silent, his lips tightly pressed together, lost in thought.

‘This one’s hopeless. He won’t say a word anyway.’

Warton immediately turned his gaze away from Martin and fixed it on Dean.

Dean, who had absentmindedly been about to take another sip of beer, hesitated and set his mug down.

“Well… I only say this because you called the princess wicked, Sir Warton.”

“Yeah! Got a problem with that?”
