“I have no choice now but to do it—for your sake.”

Viare had to know everything about Dension, whether he wished it or not.

No matter what unhappiness it might bring, she could bear anything.

Viare bit her lip, her face pale, then lifted her head and gazed toward the door.

For footsteps echoing from the hallway had just come to a halt before her room.

Whoever it was stood there for a long while without even knocking, which felt rather unpleasant.

Just as she slowly approached to open the door, two knocks sounded—and only then did Viare let out a soft sigh.

Only Gaisen and the Duke could knock twice on her door in the Ruschef household.

“It’s me, sister. May I come in?”

“Yes, please come in.”

Gaisen hesitated briefly before finally opening the door, feigning surprise upon seeing his sister standing right before him.

He sat down on the sofa as instructed and said nothing. After a long silence, Viare broke it first.

“What brings you all the way here?”

“I heard from Father at dinner that a charity event will soon be held.”

Judging by Gaisen’s disgruntled expression, he must have argued fiercely with the Duke over the matter during the meal.

She herself had been entirely unaware of it, but quickly concealed her expression and replied calmly.

“Don’t worry about that affair.”

Certainly, if it had been Viare herself, she would have already prepared adequately for the event.

After all, the charity event—held twice a year—was essentially a form of service for believers and commoners alike.

Though the event was never a simple affair, it had also led to a reassessment of the Ruschef family’s reputation.

Knowing Gaisen despised such events, she intended to handle it alone as she always had.

Having managed it for several years already, it was hardly a burden for Viare.

Yet he pursed his lips, scratched his head roughly, and unexpectedly blurted out,

“It’s not that… Sister, is something the matter?”

“What do you mean, ‘something the matter’?”

Viare raised an eyebrow slightly in puzzlement, waiting for Gaisen’s reply.

“You’ve looked unwell all day. You even forgot to mention the event.”

“It’s nothing like that, Gaisen.”

“If you don’t even want to do it, I’ll tell Father myself.”

Realizing he had completely misunderstood, Viare shook her head and stopped him.

“There’s no need. I’m truly fine.”

The thought that her younger brother had been watching her closely throughout dinner made her feel inexplicably guilty.

“You’ve never gone against Father’s words since Mother passed away.”

“Well… that’s…”

Caught off guard by Gaisen’s blunt remark, her words caught in her throat.

Of course it had to be that way—if only to shield them from the grief over their mother.

Viare offered a faint smile and gently placed her hand on his head, stroking it softly.

“If it ever becomes too much for you to bear, I’ll speak to Father myself.”

Though still unconvinced, Gaisen gave a brief nod of acknowledgment and returned to his room.

For her, today would remain the hardest day to endure—and a moment she would remember for the rest of her life.

It wasn’t that we failed to recognize their worth; it was only after everything vanished that we realized how precious they truly were.

We simply believed ordinary days would last forever—because they had always seemed so certain.

[This is the timeline separator]

After returning to the past, before she could even grow accustomed to this new life, Viare went straight to the Tanasha Grand Temple.

This place, dedicated to Ecarto—the sole deity of the Marta Empire—exuded an unmistakably spiritual atmosphere.

Renowned as the Empire’s foremost attraction, the Grand Temple was a must-visit for any foreign guest.

Finely crafted Bevel glass shimmered brilliantly, and an elaborately carved statue of Ecarto proudly displayed its majesty.

The Ruschef family’s generous donations had undoubtedly played the largest role in the temple’s lavish reconstruction.

Viare had come here today solely to offer a donation on behalf of her father—nothing more.

Having received word that the Duke’s daughter would visit in his stead due to his busy schedule, the Archbishop instructed the priests to treat her with utmost reverence.

Chapter 115 Chapter 114

In this sacred place devoted to the divine, Viare found their eager, fawning behavior—sniffing greedily for the scent of money—as she approached, almost laughable.

Then, a priest who appeared inexperienced asked her with a naive air,

“Princess Viare Ruschef, since you’ve come all the way to the Grand Temple, why not also visit the chapel?”

His intention was simply that, having walked so far, she might as well attend the Archbishop’s mass.

But seeing the other priests’ alarmed expressions trying to dissuade him, he only looked puzzled.

Public perception firmly held that the Ruschef family were devout followers of the faith.

Regular charity events and substantial donations were surely the reason behind this reputation.

In truth, however, the Ruschef children were so distant from religious devotion that they even avoided visiting the Grand Temple.

Anyone who had long served the temple knew this well—though no one ever voiced it openly.

No doubt the Grand Temple flourished so magnificently only under the protection of Duke Ruschef.

And yet, here they were, failing to properly appease the Princess—certainly inviting a stern rebuke from high-ranking clergy, as they glanced nervously at one another.

“Well then, I shall visit that place.”

To their surprise, the Princess readily accepted the suggestion, and the priests sighed in relief.

Upon reaching the splendid chapel doors, they assumed even more dignified postures and opened the doors for Viare.

High windows and the expanse of Bevel glass above vividly revealed the divine glory of Ecarto’s message to them.

The light reflected through the intricately crafted glass was more than enough to make her eyes squint involuntarily.

The Archbishop’s mass seemed to have already begun, and Viare quietly took an empty seat.

Like any other worshipper, she clasped her hands gently and closed her eyes.

She struggled to understand them—just as she struggled to understand her own brother—when it came to finding peace of mind.

She simply refrained from expressing her discomfort as directly as Gaisen would.

Not long ago, she had fervently prayed to God Ecarto—but no one reached out to take her hand.

It was solely her own supernatural ability that had saved Dension, the very path proving the truth of his new life.

“Let us pray today to Lord Ecarto, who bestows upon us new life again. May we always receive His grace.”

While Viare was lost in thought, the Archbishop concluded the prepared mass, and the worshippers bowed lightly before leaving the chapel.

She, too, rose from her seat, smoothed her wrinkled skirt, and slowly approached the lectern where the Archbishop stood.

“I greet the Prophet of Lord Ecarto.”

“Princess Viare Ruschef—how long it has been since last we met.”

Though he must have already received word from the Duke, the Archbishop greeted her with such feigned delight that she was speechless.

‘Is this how one secures a seat as Archbishop?’

Seeing his unwavering demeanor—unchanged from past to present—Viare resolved to make her donation quickly and return to the ducal residence.

“Please use this for those believers who have yet to dwell by the side of the divine.”

Though her words sounded proper on the surface, she was certain this donation, like others, would simply pile up in their coffers.

“Of course. I shall ensure that those pitiful believers, still deprived of divine grace, may come to dwell by His side.”

The Archbishop gently felt the thick envelope without even opening it—unable to fully hide the smile tugging at his lips.

Convinced she could finally return to the estate, she allowed a brief, gentle smile to grace her lips.

Just as she instructed her accompanying guard to prepare for departure—

“Your Grace, might you bestow a blessing upon Princess Viare Ruschef?”

The naive priest’s voice echoed through the temple, reaching the ears of nearby worshippers.

As word spread that the Archbishop would bless the Princess, eyes turned toward them from every corner.

Not only had she visited the chapel—but now she was to receive a blessing as well?

She clicked her tongue inwardly; that priest clearly needed re-education.

Viare smoothed her furrowed brow and looked toward the Archbishop, whose own expression clearly betrayed his fluster.

Meeting her gaze, he cleared his throat twice, and a waiting priest quickly took the donation envelope and sacred text from him.

Now with both hands free, the Archbishop once again offered a genial smile and bowed respectfully to Viare.

“Might I bestow upon you, Princess, a single blessing?”

“It would be the highest honor to receive Your Grace’s blessing.”

With those words, Viare raised her palms—opened as instructed—to her chest.

“In the name of God, I pray that blessings and prosperity ever be with you.”

After completing the blessing, the Archbishop transmitted a warm, tangible energy onto her palms.

It was the well-known divine power.

Yet the divine energy lingered only briefly beside Viare before being repelled and vanishing entirely.

Though invisible to others, Viare herself immediately sensed something extraordinary had occurred.

The Archbishop’s face stiffened for a moment, and he attempted several times to channel the divine power anew.

But each repeated effort ended in failure, until he finally swallowed hard and murmured,

“May this young and pitiful believer be freed from the chains of bondage.”

Then, as if nothing had happened at all, he gave a light bow and swiftly departed the chapel.

Resolving never to interfere with anything again.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
