“Has the trading company fallen on hard times in my absence?”

“…….”

At his sarcastic remark, the manager could only lower his head, unable to utter a word.

“Make adjustments using the company’s resources. I’ll report to the Duke.”

“As you command, young master.”

Nodding briefly, Gaizen eased his anger and finished up his work, then left the trading company with his sister. Despite having seen it several times before, witnessing his young brother’s responsible demeanor still filled her with pride.

“You seem quite adept at this now.”

Blushing at her remark, Gaizen awkwardly wrinkled his nose and avoided her gaze as he replied.

“It’s just the duty I have to perform.”

“Gaizen, you’ll definitely make a great head of the trading house.”

“Did you eat something wrong, sister?”

His question, though serious, made Vialle smile as she playfully pinched his side.

“Ouch!”

Despite his exaggerated reaction, Gaizen’s behavior seemed unchanged from before. Just a few days ago, he had bravely stood up to their father for her sake, showing a dependably strong side.

“I wonder where father is right now.”

Since the proposal issue, the Duke had been avoiding Vialle’s gaze, leaving the house at dawn and returning late. She was grateful to Gaizen and the retainers for not making their strained relationship more difficult.

Thinking it might be time to forgive her father and reach out, she inquired about his whereabouts.

“He’s probably busy with the believers all afternoon.”

Agreeing with his casual response, Vialle suddenly felt a sense of unease. Usually, the Duke would deliver a speech at the charity event and then discreetly leave, often returning with priests and believers.

Though it was common for him to praise the god Ekartho, the fact that no one knew his exact whereabouts was troubling. The charity event didn’t have a designated prayer area.

A servant hurriedly approached Vialle, informing her that the charity performance was about to start.

“Miss, the charity performance is about to begin.”

“Alright, I’ll be there soon.”

The Ruschev family’s charity event was no mere child’s play; it showcased their vibrant trade relations with other countries and indirectly reflected the trading company’s stature.

Inviting such performers was no easy feat, but the Ruschev’s wealth made it possible. The rare and awe-inspiring performances captivated both nobles and commoners alike.

Yet, with so many people excitedly gathered, Vialle felt a greater sense of responsibility, considering the potential dangers. Despite thorough preliminary checks, the unease didn’t dissipate.

Just as she hadn’t predicted a natural disaster earlier, another unforeseen event could occur. A mishap in the capital could seriously damage the Ruschev’s standing.

Vialle knew well that many nobles were waiting to exploit even the slightest weakness in their family.
Surely, in this square, there were reporters infiltrated on commission, their eyes gleaming with an unforgiving vigilance for even the slightest error.

Thus, Vialle could not afford to relax her vigilance until the charity event concluded.

Soon, the signal flare announcing the start of the charity performance erupted, drawing a large crowd that started to buzz around.

Navigating through the crowd was no easy task, rendering the following guards practically useless.

“Big sister, hold my hand from here.”

Concerned about his sister in this unexpected situation, Gaizen quickly extended his hand to Vialle.

She stared at his hand, causing Gaizen to feel awkward and start to retract it, but then she gently placed her hand in his.

Seeing her brother’s matured demeanor, Vialle thought she might rely on him a bit more.

Like the previous charity events, a huge crowd had gathered, and it was only a moment before Vialle lost Gaizen’s hand in the throng.

Before she could react, she was about to fall when someone supported her shoulder, allowing her to regain her balance.

As Vialle was about to thank him, a familiar scent of cool hyacinths brushed her nose, freezing her in place.

The familiarity of the scent filled her green eyes with turmoil and her heart began to race rapidly.

It was the image she had been longing for, right before her eyes.

Unable to lift her head, his blurry image overlapped in her tearful vision.

An indescribable sorrow swelled in Vialle’s heart, and she could only swallow the words she couldn’t say to him.

‘Don’t go.’

Her eyes brimmed with tears, ready to fall any moment, but she bit her lip till it bled, staunchly holding them back.

‘Please, don’t go.’

In her mind, she was already calling out to him, holding onto him, but in reality, she had nothing to keep Denzion with her.

‘Please, Zion.’

Unaware of her feelings, he quietly withdrew after ensuring everything was normal.

As Denzion’s figure faded into the distance, Vialle let out the tears she had been holding back.

Perhaps she was afraid.

Despite knowing the fact, the man she loved didn’t remember her.

To him, she was no different than a stranger, and they could never go back to how they were.

Male lead is a Destined Young Husband (Female-dominant)

One-sentence summary: Wife-master, listen to my explanation!

Li Ruantang, a young lady from a prestigious family, stumbled and fell. When she woke up, she saw a noble and beautiful young man sitting by her bedside, wiping away tears.

The young master had slightly reddened eyes, and his every move exuded charm.

The sight made Li Ruantang’s eyes hot and her heart flutter. After all, she had made a bet with the young master Meng from the neighboring family. If she couldn’t marry a husband before the end of the year, she would have to admit defeat and give up the jade she had worked so hard to obtain.

Outside the window, the flowers were in full bloom.

Rather than losing the bet, the jade, and her face, Li Ruantang calculated that it would be better to seek marriage with the young master in front of her, killing three birds with one stone.

…

Meng Jun never thought that an accident during a spring outing would lead to them rolling down a cliff and into a river, yet still survive.

Now they were trapped in an unknown village, and Meng Jun had overheard that the family who had rescued them had their own intentions.

After all, it was Li Ruantang who had lost her mind and sought marriage first. He was only trying to protect himself!

Glancing at Li Ruantang, who was listing her own merits, the young husband’s voice softened, and he blushed as he lied, “W-wife-master, Wife-master, don’t you remember me?”

The young husband’s voice was clear and handsome, coaxing Li Ruantang’s heart to be soft and sweet, and she spared no effort to protect him.

It wasn’t until they returned to the capital that Li Ruantang suddenly remembered.

When they had fallen off the cliff, in order not to implicate Wei Yunruo, whom he secretly admired, the young husband had instead pulled her, who was slightly farther away, down the cliff with him…

Short summary by Yuushi L: Initially, the male lead (ML) liked another girl, while the female lead (FL) liked the ML. Both fell off a cliff. The FL temporarily lost her memory, and the ML, fearing others might take advantage of him, claimed FL was his wife while they were staying in a village. Later, when they returned home, the FL regained her memories and remembered that the ML liked someone else, so she kept her distance from him. However, during their time living together in the countryside, the ML’s view of the FL had completely changed. From this point, his pursuit of the FL begins.
