At the end of a late spring, where the heat haze was rising, the Ranunculus flowers burst into bloom, revealing their brilliant petals. As pollen fluttered around and entered through the window, tickling Bialette’s eyes and nose, her brows naturally furrowed.

“Lady Ruschev, His Highness the Crown Prince has requested your presence inside.”

The aide, who had been assisting the Crown Prince with official duties, looked worn and respectfully opened the door before disappearing. Before her engagement with Ivan, Bialette’s access was limited to the audience hall, but now, as his fiancée, she could also step into his office.

“To the glory of the Marta Empire. I greet Your Highness, the Crown Prince.”

“Welcome, Lady. Please, take a seat.”

Ivan, who seemed to have not yet finished his official duties, peeked from between the piles of documents on his desk to welcome her. Shortly after, a maid arrived with tea, and Ivan took a seat opposite Bialette on the sofa.

“I hope I’m not interrupting your busy schedule.”

“Wasn’t it I who contacted you first? I’ve been concerned about you since that day.”

Sure enough, Ivan had secretly planted spies at the spring event to watch her. Hearing that Bialette had left early for the mansion due to seasickness, he even sent medicine prescribed by the royal physician. Although rumors spread that the Crown Prince was attentively caring for his fiancée, interpreting it differently meant he was openly declaring surveillance.

Bialette lifted her teacup to her lips to hide the slight curl of her mouth.

“So many festivals to commemorate spring.”

Ivan’s tone held a bit of complaint. The Marta Empire had many festivals to celebrate spring, primarily because their sole deity, Ekarto, was believed to have been born in spring.

“Ah, I didn’t mean to disrespect Ekarto.”

He knew Bialette had been visiting the cathedral more frequently this year. Unaware of her activities there, he only assumed it was for simple religious devotion.

Bialette had no intention of correcting this. It was better to be misunderstood as a devout believer to avoid suspicion.

“I’m fine, Your Highness.”

As Bialette smiled faintly, Ivan seemed to sigh in relief.

“But what brings you to my office today?”

Sensing Bialette’s intent to get to the point, his gaze drifted to her hand.

“I called you to my office because it’s hard to see my fiancée’s face.”

He then burst into a carefree laugh, making Bialette aware that he had another motive. It was unusual for Ivan, who had been indifferent to opposition, to call her directly to his office, evading watchful eyes.

She knew Ivan wouldn’t have summoned her for such a reason. He likely had something to say that he didn’t want others to overhear.

As Bialette looked at him intently, Ivan casually broached a different topic.

“……I was wondering if you don’t like the engagement ring.”

It seemed he had noticed that Bialette didn’t wear the engagement ring except for official events.

Caught off guard that he would notice such a detail, she swallowed dryly and tried to respond calmly.

“I’ve lost weight recently, so the ring feels loose.”

This wasn’t entirely false. With many concerns on her mind, her weight had been steadily decreasing.
Although Bialette had consulted a physician, the symptoms appeared to be stress-related, and rest at a resort was recommended. However, Bialette couldn’t afford to do so, as each day was increasingly important to her. The approaching winter was enough to make her anxious and uneasy.

Fortunately, Ivan seemed to believe her explanation, unaware of her true feelings. He looked at Bialette with a sympathetic gaze and said, as if to explain:

“I wish you had told me earlier. My aide was nagging me so much.”

‘Ah, should I deal with your aide first before bringing you down?’

Bialette suppressed a laugh and showed him a more graceful smile than usual.

“I always treasure that ring.”

“Good, I’ll send a jeweler to the mansion soon.”

Relieved that the situation wasn’t as he feared, Ivan spoke with a softer tone than before.

“I appreciate Your Highness’s generosity.”

“There’s no need for that. Aren’t you my fiancée?”

Bialette just nodded, not saying anything, and smiled sardonically to herself, wondering how long he would keep her by his side.

After winter, when everything was over, Ivan would undoubtedly despise her from the bottom of his heart.

Having spent the entire morning with Ivan, Bialette felt an overwhelming fatigue and excused herself, using his official duties as a pretext. She had realized which unnamed palace she had visited previously and was now wandering its gardens.

The warm air heated the earth, and the lush greenery reflected the mystery of life.

‘I must meet her today, no matter what.’

After some time, the lady Bialette had been waiting for appeared – a figure with the royal family’s signature light blonde hair and red eyes, more akin to a black spot than the sun.

Surprised to see Bialette, the lady composed herself as Bialette respectfully greeted her.

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation

One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:

To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.

But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.

It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.

This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.

Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.

Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.

“Let’s divorce!”

***

Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.

Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?

But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.

Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.

Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.

In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.

Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”

Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.

He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”

***

Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.

But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.

“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”

Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?

Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?
