To You Who Found Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 5
“Ughhh, my head.”
Hye Yoon woke up from sleep, pressing her throbbing head hard with her palms. As her blurry vision gradually cleared, what tormented her mind more than the hangover was the unfamiliar space right in front of her eyes.
‘What the…… where am I?’
It was a room as spacious as a living room. White marble floor and walls. In front of her, a huge TV covered the entire wall, next to it a geometrically shaped glass table and a diffuser. That was all she could see.
Rustle—
“Oh my god, what is this…….”
Only then did she sit up and look down at the blanket wrapped around her body. And she instantly understood why the texture of the blanket felt so vividly against her skin. A crumpled beige Oxford shirt thrown on the floor. And inside the blanket, her bare body wearing only underwear.
‘Jang Hye Yoon, you’ve really lost it.’
She had no idea what the situation was, but first, she had to put some clothes on. Before someone came in.
Taking a moment to steady her breathing—she couldn’t hear any sound from outside the door—Hye Yoon stepped out from under the blanket. Just as she hurriedly reached for the messy shirt, she noticed the wet bandages stuck all over her wrists and knees.
Also, neatly folded jeans under the bed and an unfamiliar white t-shirt.
On top of them, a short memo.
[Put these on when you wake up. The bathroom is in the room next to the TV.]Her hurried movements stopped. For some reason, that memo felt like it was saying, “Don’t worry.” So, absurdly enough in this situation, Hye Yoon leisurely left the room.
The jeans she had worn yesterday were clean as if they were new, and the white t-shirt placed on top was very large and cozy.
‘Right. Yesterday we had dinner and drank…….’
When she opened the door, a long indoor hallway that matched the huge bedroom stretched out. Closed doors and paintings alternated several times along the long corridor. At the far end, the floor reflecting sunlight was dazzling—it seemed to be the living room.
Her eyes were busy scanning every corner of the house, her mind busy squeezing out the last memory of Ji Ho from yesterday. Meanwhile, the clearer the music became as she walked, and the delicious smell.
“Wow…….”
Hye Yoon stopped in her tracks upon reaching the living room. The Han River spread out beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows was breathtaking. The river water sparkled like jewels under the clear sky.
The unfamiliar body wash scent wrapped around her felt cozy, and the oversized t-shirt was soft as skin. Being on such a high floor made her feel like she was floating above the clouds.
‘Is this a dream right now? It kind of feels like one…….’
From the moment she opened her eyes, nothing had felt real.
“Did you sleep well?”
And the voice of this man who was the most unreal of all.
“Even the smallest of my clothes is still big on you.”
“……Ji Ho?”
She couldn’t speak. Turning around, she saw Ji Ho standing in the dining room in comfortable clothes. Hye Yoon thought this was the most shocking moment of her life. First, the situation itself was shocking. Waking up in the morning at the home of Korea’s top male actor.
And second.
“Ah…… Do you remember why you got hurt?”
It was the appearance of the man who approached with large strides and carefully held her injured hand. In truth, this was the biggest reason. Even though she had seen his face all evening yesterday. The fact that the awe-inspiring face she had seen was only half, hidden under a cap.
“…….”
“Does it hurt?”
She was too shocked to speak easily. But she couldn’t keep her mouth shut forever when those eyes waiting for an answer looked so earnest.
“I think I fell…….”
“Yes. I got hurt because of my mistake. ……I’m sorry.”
Even though the fragmented memories were all jumbled and unclear, she remembered perfectly that she had fallen and hurt herself. Yet where did that apology come from?
Hye Yoon looked up at him. She looked into his gentle eyes. And in those eyes, she could see her slightly dazed self.
“Let’s talk about anything you’re curious about while eating.”
As if he knew everything about her, Ji Ho led her by the hand and sat her on a dining chair; he smelled the same as her.
⋆⋆⋆
“If I knew you’d take them off yourself, I should’ve waited a bit.”
“Haaa…….”
Hye Yoon lowered her head and pressed her reddening cheeks with both palms. She had thought he might have undressed her because of the bruises and wounds, but that was only half correct.
It was true that he had removed her jeans—since they wouldn’t go past her knees—and applied medicine while she was covered with the blanket, but he said she had taken off the shirt herself. Apparently she had taken it off because it felt stuffy after he left the room, so he added that the shirt couldn’t be washed.
“Um. Ji Ho…….”
“Yes.”
Hye Yoon still couldn’t raise her head and just kept stirring the egg soup. The way everything swirled messily in the bowl was exactly like her current heart. Her intimidated voice grew endlessly smaller.
“……Could you please stop staring at me like that? It’s already incredibly embarrassing even without you looking.”
Ji Ho’s low laughter blended perfectly with the music flowing through the house. The white t-shirt similar to the one she was wearing made his clean skin stand out even more.
Trending
Under his crossed arms, firm chest muscles drew bold curves through the thin t-shirt.
“But you believe all of that?”
“Believe what?”
“What I just said. That I only took them off because of the injuries and didn’t do anything else.”
He leaned back in his chair and spoke playfully.
“Ji Ho isn’t that kind of person.”
“That kind of person? What kind?”
Even Hye Yoon herself didn’t understand. Clearly his tone was full of teasing and the intention to joke was obvious, yet strangely she couldn’t ignore it. She had felt that continuously since yesterday. His words had that kind of power.
Especially when combined with those long eyes, it felt like her mouth would open on its own. As if being sucked into pitch-black pupils.
“You…… know exactly what I mean.”
She could have said it more directly, but then her face would probably burn, so she answered indirectly.
“Writer Jang, don’t trust people so easily. Because I’m thinking you’d be like this with others too, I’m a bit…….”
“…….”
In the few seconds he paused to prepare his reply, the temperature of his expression changed dramatically. So much that he felt like a completely different person.
“I’m a little angry.”
Like an actor confidently using his imagination, Ji Ho’s eyes instantly turned cold. It wasn’t just “a little”—his eyes and expression reminded her of hell.
“Um, Ji Ho.”
And understanding the intention behind those words, Hye Yoon gave a small smile. Because the meaning of those eyes that seemed to scatter frost was crystal clear. “I’m worried you’ll get hurt.”
Of course, the other side was several moves ahead. He had cleverly hidden the part that said, “So stay only by my side.”
“I don’t trust people easily. I trust my instincts. And my instincts tell me Ji Ho is definitely a good person.”
“Don’t trust those instincts too much from now on. I’m not that good of a person.”
“Ah…….”
His expression and tone were so gentle, yet he said he wasn’t a good person. At his chin gesture toward the food in front of her, Hye Yoon quietly chewed her rice. And with his back to her, Ji Ho walked toward the water purifier.
The finger that was about to press the hot water button paused in midair.
‘My instincts tell me Ji Ho is definitely a good person.’
At Hye Yoon’s words just now, the memory of his own actions last night came back, and a self-mocking laugh escaped. What kind of good guy worries that someone might come pick up his drunk friend?
‘Is she very drunk? I can’t come right now, what should I do…….’
‘I’ll let her sleep at my place tonight.’
‘What?!’
He remembered the clear voice from the other end of the phone. The tone of surprise when asking again was completely understandable.
It had felt unfamiliar and absurd to himself too. Afraid that if the call lasted longer he might lose Hye Yoon, he had hurriedly hung up, ending with “I’ll tell her when she wakes up.”
Well, what exactly should he pass on? That her sleeping face was so pretty he barely held back and only stroked her hair a couple of times? That he thought he wasn’t that kind of guy, but almost became an even worse one?
Everything he could tell her was far removed from her instincts. Ji Ho shook his head.
“By any chance…….”
He was the one with impure thoughts, yet she was the one noticing. Ji Ho handed her the warm water and waited for her next words.
“Did I…… do anything else wrong?”
“……No. Nothing.”
He answered rather calmly, yet she looked utterly lost.
“There is…… I did something wrong.”
“Huh?”
“That look in your eyes right now. It’s the look of someone trying to hide something.”
“Ah, your instincts are really sharp at times like this.”
“Haaa…….”
“Heh heh. Just kidding. We really only talked a bit more, that’s all.”
Seeing her put down the spoon with the expression of a dejected puppy, Ji Ho couldn’t help but chuckle. This woman he had known for barely a day didn’t give him any room to hate himself.
“It’s nothing much. Just that you originally said you were a fairy tale writer.”
“What?!”
“And a little about your new book.”
“N-no way. I think you’re mistaking me for someone else right now.”
“I think you said is being published next month…….”

Those deep, unfathomable dark eyes examined Hye Yoon’s face in detail. Her expression looked like her soul had left her body, as if she had stepped on a landmine.
As expected, every single expression showed her emotions so clearly—it was exactly his type. It made him add words he didn’t even need to.
“Very few people know this, so it’s a secret. Well, that’s really all.”
For Hye Yoon, that really was everything. The everything she never wanted to reveal in her life.
Ji Ho wanted to tease her more, but decided to stop here. Her voice that had been trembling like a song suddenly cut off, and the light seemed to be disappearing from her brown eyes.
It felt like she was imagining the destruction of her entire universe with that little head of hers.
“There isn’t much I can do for you either.”
“……Yes?”
“Keeping the secret, and letting you know that Writer Jang looked incredibly happy while saying that. For me, that’s really all too.”
Ji Ho met Hye Yoon’s eyes. And for the woman who could read minds, he momentarily lowered his thick walls. He was just as good at not being read as he was at reading—this was actually the first time Ji Ho had shown his heart completely without a single speck hidden.
Hye Yoon didn’t avoid those eyes either; she stared back hard, as if pressing into them.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Click—
At that moment, the sound of the front door opening rang out. Even the sound of entering the passcode felt urgent.
When scheming men desperately battle for her favor in the male harem

This one’s also on my reread list! The rivalry, scheming between the men in the imperial harem are just as intense and thrilling as in classic palace drama novels, where concubines fight to the death. Give it a read, girls! I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Synopsis:
“I am not worthy of her… but I still want to be by her side, even if only as a loyal dog…”
Those were the painful whispers of Yue Guanyi – the proud Crown Prince of the Great Qi, who was torn between deep love and a guilty conscience. Despite holding the supreme power of the Imperial Guard, he still could not forget the dark past when he was sold into a brothel.
Fate played a cruel twist when Qiu Shuzhi – a young female official who had just passed the imperial examinations with top honors – stepped into his life. She did not know that she was the one who had saved him from a tragic fate many years ago. And now, her heart was the target of pursuit for both Yue Guanyi and the powerful Empress Dowager Qin Qing.
While Yue Guanyi only dared to silently care for and protect the one he loved from afar, the Empress Dowager Qin Qing openly expressed his feelings and did not hesitate to take advantage of his power to approach Qiu Shuzhi. The covert struggle between the two most powerful forces in the imperial court began…
