To You Who Found Me (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 34
“I really enjoyed the cookies. But I don’t have anything to give you in return.”
Ji Ho, having arrived at the car, handed her a mint-colored paper bag along with a sandwich. It was the very same envelope Hye Yoon had given him the night before, filled with cookies. Now, however, it seemed to hold something else inside.
“Aww, you really didn’t have to give me anything like this.”
Hye Yoon, looking at his outstretched hand—clearly not expecting anything in return—accepted the envelope with an embarrassed smile. The bag, which had looked small in Ji Ho’s hands, now appeared perfectly sized in hers.
“It’s nothing much—just a cup. I bought it overseas while shooting a photoshoot, but honestly, I’ll never use it myself.”
“Huh? If you’re not even going to use it, why’d you buy it? As a souvenir?”
“Well… I guess it was that feeling—like when your dad comes back from a trip and brings you a little gift? I figured someday I’d give it to someone, and today just happened to be that day.”
While waiting for their coffee, several staff members glanced curiously at them, but Ji Ho paid it no mind. Hye Yoon was too busy, childlike in her curiosity, eager to see what was inside the bag.
After receiving their coffee, they walked over to a bench slightly away from the others. Hye Yoon immediately opened the envelope the moment she sat down. With careful hands, she pulled out the cup from its box and lifted it up excitedly right in front of her face, eyes sparkling.
“Wow… it’s so pretty!”
Ji Ho, just bringing his coffee to his lips, kept his eyes fixed on Hye Yoon. Now he finally understood why dads brought home souvenirs—they wanted to see that very expression.
“There are two, so we can use them at the café.”
“Aww, but I’ll just use it all by myself at home!”
“Heh heh. Either way is fine.”
Ji Ho held out the sandwich at a convenient angle for her to eat, worried that if he left it, she’d just keep staring at the cup without taking a bite.
