“Did you rest well yesterday?”
Sitting on the sofa and looking at the script, Ji Ho looked at the approaching Hye Yoon with warm eyes. She had taken off her school uniform and he wondered if she would look closer to her actual age now, but she still seemed like a child.
“Yes…… But you couldn’t rest again, could you?”
Perhaps because of the pastelcolored clothes she was wearing, her fair face seemed to glow even brighter. So, for a moment, he wanted to touch her cheek if he let go of his senses. Seeing her eyes welled up with guilt, he brought up a story that would make her feel better.
“I did manage to sleep deeply for a short while though. Fell asleep reading a cute book, maybe?”
Hye Yoon quickly closed her slightly opened mouth, a mixture of joy and surprise. Even with her efforts to hide it, the smile peeked out, beautifully lifting her cheekbones.
“Did you read the same book again? I’ll give you other books. They are not new releases though.”
“Uh huh. There were a total of 11 books up to this one.”
“Wow…… How did you know?”
“How would I know? Because I have a lot of interest.”

His eyes, barely victorious over sleep, smiled faintly. Hye Yoon looked at Ji Ho with concern for his fatigue. It seemed like there was nothing she could do for him.
Ji Ho sent a signal with his eyes for Hye Yoon, who had come closer, to sit next to him. She quickly took her seat, but didn’t sit too close. He looked down at the small gap between the two of them.
And at his conspicuous gaze, she also looked at the same spot, her eyes meeting Ji Ho’s.
1 second. 2 seconds. 3 seconds.
For three seconds, Hye Yoon, who had been staring into Ji Ho’s eyes, discreetly filled the gap, checking the staff members’ reactions. It was because the look he had thrown her, asking her to read, was smoothly read in letters.
‘If I go closer, it will be much closer than I thought?’
Everyone knew they were a couple, so there was absolutely no need to worry about what others thought. But Hye Yoon was always like this, like a child secretly cherishing a doll given to her.
“Just like the other day, take the books I bought as gifts and exchange them for new ones. I’ve been leaving reviews.”
Ji Ho’s eyes lazily squinted.
“Huh? You’ve already bought them?”

“Yeah, I’m going through them one by one.”
“Wow……”
Hye Yoon was thankful that the number of times she could say ‘thank you’ to a person was not limited. If it were, she would have used them all up on Ji Ho long ago.
The same went for ‘I’m sorry for always receiving’.
“If so, you’ll have to visit my house at least ten more times.”
As she saw her brown eyes becoming more than just moist, soaked, Ji Ho joked. She who knew all his thoughtfulness looked up with heavy eyes.
Even if he did not reach out, it was evident those eyes trying to suppress fatigue would be warm. And when such a judgment came, gathering courage was not a big deal. So, if Ji Ho seemed like he would be tired.
Anytime, anywhere.
“Huh?”
Suddenly, Hye Yoon reached out towards Ji Ho. With one hand, she grabbed his shoulder, and with the other, she curved her palm and covered his eyes.

“Just close your eyes for a bit.”
She wanted to give him the night of the day Ji Ho had created last week, but it didn’t seem to work as well as she’d hoped.
“Your hand is really small.”
And on that small hand, Ji Ho’s large hand naturally overlapped. Although it was a night he made himself, as long as their hands overlapped, he believed it was a night made by Hye Yoon.
The staff preparing for the shoot sneaked peeks at the two. Hye Yoon, not knowing where to put her eyes, finally gave up and decided to look at Ji Ho.
Her awkward tone tickled Ji Ho’s ear.
“Uh… Ji Ho. Would you like to be my nap buddy during lunchtime? Even though there are only a few days left.”
“Nap buddy? Hehe. What’s that?”
True to the night made by Hye Yoon, she heard stories that she really would do. He momentarily forgot his fatigue and laughed.
Of course, ‘nap buddy’ was also a word Hye Yoon just made up. Just an intuitive combination of two words. She openly mixed the two things she wanted to do.

“Last time, you stayed with me because you thought I might be scared. So, I wanted to do the same for you this week.”
“Hmm……”
Since his eyes were covered, he couldn’t see. Ji Ho nodded along with a small noise. Of course, he couldn’t fully nod even in his heart. He was worried whether he could fall asleep with her next to him.
“Oh, right. You’re really fearless, aren’t you Ji Ho?”
As Ji Ho didn’t show a quick affirmation, Hye Yoon hastily asked about his feelings. Although it was a bit disappointing, in fact, you can sleep the most comfortably when there is no one next to you. Moreover, if you’re not scared alone, there’s no need to say more.
“Then…… I’ll cancel this.”
However, just because he couldn’t see didn’t mean he couldn’t read her feelings. He quickly caught the end of Hye Yoon’s words.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
