Since then, nothing has changed between the two. Greetings, matching lines, and if lucky, a few more words exchanged. Of course, she was well aware that those few words were special treatment that every actress envied.
Who in this field doesn’t know An Jiho’s impenetrable fortress? It wasn’t just an idle nickname.
As the shooting came to an end, the feelings grew. That’s how the accident happened on the last day. In front of his car, the start of a rumor: ‘An Jiho and Jeon Jina kissed secretly on the set.’
She faced it head-on and regretted it as soon as their lips touched. Jiho’s breath on her face was cold. The feathers on her cheeks stood up as if reacting. At that moment, the sound of someone quickly escaping from there was heard. Until then, Jiho never turned his face away.
“Don’t do this somewhere else.”
“…”
“Losing someone is only up to me.”
That was Jiho’s final words. Dryly. His turned back became a dot, disappearing, and she remained frozen there for a while.
Even during the wrap-up party, she could have apologized, but she couldn’t even approach. Despite not expressing anger, she was thoroughly crushed by his atmosphere. If their eyes met from a distance, her gaze immediately dropped to the ground.
It was clearly terrifying. Who would believe it? Even fearless Jina trembled under his indifferent gaze.

“Jina?”
When she reminisced about the unpleasant emotions in her past, a small knocking sound was heard. Tap, tap. A voice, tapping on the wall of memory, telling her to come back now. It was Hye-yoon.
“Ah… so you came here. To apologize for that day. Since no one knows Jiho oppa’s contact information.”
Jina, who had returned to the present, refocused. Light brown eyes peered directly into her face. Her eyes were moist as if moved by the words of coming to apologize.
Jina tilted her head to one side. She wanted to see up close those peculiar moist eyes. Even at a glance, it seemed like there was a 10cm height difference between the two, so to match eye level, this was necessary.
Then, from the gaze that got a bit closer, Hye-yoon’s eyes looked wetly radiant.
“You’re brave. It’s really difficult to come to apologize.”
If we were to consider wetness, her words were just as much so. Hye-yoon’s age, which had been doubtful, was now believed. Even though her face looked young, her inherent demeanor seemed mature.
“It’s not bravery; it’s coming after receiving punishment for a year. I just want it to stop.”
“Punishment?”

So, Jina decided to act her age. It was still suitable for a bit of petulance at this age.
“Don’t do this somewhere else. Losing someone is only up to me.”
“…What?”
“Those were Jiho oppa’s last words. Just those two words, the end.”
Hye-yoon opened her mouth wide and tilted her head, mimicking Jiho’s voice when he tried to suppress his anger. She remembered the voice from the day she avoided him all day due to a misunderstanding, and also the voice during several NGs of their attempts at kissing.
“…It’s just about this much.”
“It’s okay if it’s a bit shorter than this.”
“You have to answer.”
Thinking about it again, it was a bit scary. Even when it was a comforting word, her heart constricted. Now, adding Jiho’s recent words to that voice. Hye-yoon quickly bit the inside of her cheek. She felt she knew the emotions she had on that day.
“Because he’s someone who appears on TV, I heard that voice every time I saw his face… until now, throughout the whole year.”
“Ah…”

Jina shook her head with a bitter memory, but at the end, a small chuckle escaped along with the chilly breeze.
“Wow… really unlike Jiho oppa, isn’t it? Quietly causing trouble for people.”
“Ah, it wasn’t causing trouble; it was exactly as he meant it.”
“What?”
“In the future, don’t lose good people. Live while being loved.”
Soft words flowed gently through her small lips. The slowly spoken words felt like they were softly brushing the feathers all over her body. Jina felt relieved for a moment. This was the comfort given by the lover of the man she liked. She liked the fact that she didn’t raise a single day of doubt, even in such a suspicious situation.
However, belief is belief, and curiosity is curiosity. Jina extended her puzzled feelings as long as her height. In her eyes, which always seemed sluggish, a subtle vitality began to appear.
“…You’re an amazing writer.”
“What? What are you talking about?”
“Why would such words come from me? To a girl who rushed to kiss her own boyfriend.”

“Because… It’s because I like it. It was a mistake because I was inexperienced. Everyone makes mistakes.”
Hye-yoon rolled her eyes with a sly expression. Since Jina was confident that there was no pretense in Hye-yoon’s words, she decided to give a bit more honest response. Believing and being curious were separate things, and there was a considerable difference between theory and practice.
“Also, it wasn’t like we were in this kind of relationship back then.”
“If we were in this kind of relationship?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
