The temple stood far from the city’s bustling district. Though called a bustling area, it was a city on the outskirts, home only to small shops.

Perhaps because few travelers passed through, everyone stared curiously as Ariana walked by accompanied by her knights.

Pulling her hood low over her face, Ariana spoke to Sei.

“A dragon, you say?”

Sei shook his head.

“They were noble creatures that lived on this continent in a very, very distant past. They were so enormous and powerful they were called the emissaries of the gods. Legend says one was so large it could fill this entire city and still have room to spare.”

“Wow, if you ate the heart of such a huge creature, that power would never leave you for your whole life.”

“Sei, I’d prefer it if you didn’t use that ability.”

“But, Master, without it, I have no other talent. I want to protect you.”

“Protecting me isn’t only about fighting with a sword. If you learn more, you’ll be able to help me with many things.”

“I’ll study hard. I’ll become smarter.”

Ariana smiled faintly as she looked around the city said to have once been home to dragons long ago.

Though not extravagant, its well-preserved ancient buildings made it a beautiful place.

Beyond the bustling district, up a narrow path winding through dense trees for quite a while, stood the temple.

A place dedicated to the great Arphen, the Creator.
