“Of course, I’ve already spoken to His Highness about it. I told him the chocolates keep piling up because there’s far too much for the Lady Consort to eat alone. But His Highness keeps insisting, saying the Lady Consort adores sweets so much—what can I do?”

“…I do like sweets, yes. But not to this extent. It’s excessive. Besides, I have no reason to keep accepting them.”

Ariana swallowed a small sigh.

When she’d decided to distance herself from Cyrus, she’d also resolved to cut ties with his people. But Isaac wouldn’t allow it.
