Cyrus swallowed the urge to laugh and stared at Ariana. Ariana’s scheme had surpassed him.

He had thought she only intended to inflict damage limited to making investors lose the money they’d invested.

“The investors won’t just be unable to recover their investments—they’ll end up having to compensate the victims as well. If they pretend ignorance, their reputation will plummet.”

“I see.”

“Since Count Gavien took on debt even for the factory construction, he won’t have a single coin left. Thus, aiding the victims will fall entirely on the investors. I’ll send a letter to my father saying that the Northern Marquis has shown great interest in Count Gavien’s venture and intends to invest, so my father will surely follow suit.”

If a business drew the interest of the ever-cautious Northern Marquis, many investors would flock to it.
