Seo Yeong’s words met with no response from Jae Heon, prompting Chairman Seo to hurriedly speak up.

“It’s so good to see the two of you sitting side by side. Don’t you agree, President Jang?”

“Haha. Yes, Chairman.”

“Both tall and good-looking, and equally skilled, they’re truly a well-matched pair.”

It seemed another pointless conversation, akin to a king without a gun and his disloyal retinue, was about to begin.

Up to this point, he had shown enough courtesy to his grandfather, who had called Jang In Ho and Jang Seo Yeong without his consent.

His grandfather, who knew well his own lack of interest in such matters, would understand.

‘I’ve wasted enough time as it is.’

Having reached this conclusion, he stood up from his seat.

“I must be going.”

The abrupt statement made all three sets of eyes widen simultaneously.

Especially, Chairman Seo’s pupils shook as if he’d gone mad.

‘He’s ruining everything! When just sitting there would’ve sealed the deal…!’

“I forgot I had urgent business.”

His words darkened the smile that had been on Jang In Ho’s face the entire time.

And why not? Jae Heon’s face wasn’t that of someone who had forgotten an urgent task, but rather one declaring his intention to escape this boring situation.

“Shouldn’t you at least eat before leaving?”

“I really should be going now.”

As Chairman Seo tried to intervene, Jae Heon swiftly cut him off.

“It’s a matter that could determine the future of the company, something incredibly important and large.”

What utter nonsense!

When he had checked Jae Heon’s schedule via the secretary this morning, there was certainly no ‘incredibly important and large matter’ that could determine the future of the company.

That’s why they had scheduled lunch in the first place.

Still, he couldn’t accuse him of lying.

It would be deceiving both Jang In Ho and Seo Yeong.

Even if Seo Yeong had a big crush on Jae Heon, this wasn’t how Jang In Ho would let it pass.

‘That guy… Oh, my fate…’

Chairman Seo had no choice but to move according to Jae Heon’s will.

“Ah, yes, I remember that matter now…”

At Chairman Seo’s words, Jae Heon nodded his head very calmly.

“Yes, that’s the matter.”

You frustrating guy. Even if you’re my only grandson, you’re really making me want to slap you right now.

Trying to cool his boiling insides, Chairman Seo apologized to Jang In Ho with a sorry expression.

“Ah, I forgot that Executive Seo had an important schedule. My memory fails me in old age. I apologize on his behalf.”

“No, it’s alright. If it’s important, he should go.”

Seo Yeong looked up at Jae Heon with a wistful expression, but he didn’t even notice.

“Then, I’ll take my leave.”

Jae Heon, who had bowed his head, immediately left the special room.

His steps toward the parking lot began to quicken.

He wanted to see Ra Jin’s face as quickly as possible.

It would’ve been nice to have spent this useless time talking with Ra Jin.

‘I should apologize. I was too sensitive this morning.’

It wasn’t that he had a high pride.

He just didn’t understand why he was so awkward in front of her, so foreign, so shocked.

But from Ra Jin’s perspective, he might have appeared like a narrow-minded boss who got offended when corrected.

No, he most certainly did appear that way.

He couldn’t let her remember him in such an unfavorable light. He should take her to a nice place for dinner. Should he make a reservation in advance?

‘I need to make plans quickly. She might already have prior engagements.’

Just when the anxious Jae Heon was about to call Ra Jin by pulling out his cellphone from his jacket pocket–

“Excuse me, wait a moment!”

An unwelcome voice called out from behind. But he didn’t stop, pretending not to hear.

He was tired of any further annoyances.

What was important now was to see Ra Jin’s face and inhale her scent as soon as possible.

“Executive Seo Jae Heon!”
No matter how loudly she called, Jae Heon only moved further away without responding.

Seo Yeon bit her lip.

‘He’s probably avoiding me on purpose again.’

It had been the same at the last foundation anniversary event.

Seo Yeon, who had been continuously watching Jae Heon, discreetly followed him out of the event hall while Chairman Seo was busy conversing with someone else.

And just like now, she had shouted loudly at him.

“Director Seo Jae Heon! Just a moment, please stop!”

Back then, the distance was even shorter. There was no way he couldn’t have heard her voice.

But he kept moving forward, cruelly so.

His pace quickened, and the gap between them widened.

In the end, unable to catch up, Seo Yeon had to swallow her disappointment while staring at the spot where he disappeared. At the same time, she made a vow.

Next time, she wouldn’t let him go.

‘Think I’ll miss him again?’

Gritting her teeth, Seo Yeon sprinted in her high heels until she finally caught up with Jae Heon.

“Just a moment, I have something to say!”

The moment she barely managed to grab the hem of his sleeve.

“Ah…!”

Thump! Jae Heon forcefully shook off Seo Yeon’s hand.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
