He momentarily forgot that the other party was his secretary.
She was the only one who could stand up to Director Seo Jae Heon, who was known to be prickly and demanding within GeonYong Group.
“…Do that.”
“Huh? Do what?”
“Do that, whatever it’s called, the keep thing.”
Not wanting to burden Ra Jin, Jae Heon evaded the question by agreeing to her proposal.
However, he couldn’t not mention the second clause.
If he didn’t make this clear, it was certain that Ra Jin would try to go straight home after the act.
“Thank you.”
Jae Heon looked at Ra Jin who responded briskly and found her annoying.
‘I’m putting up with it because the scarf suits her well, I am.’
He had to let it slide since it served as proof of his excellent taste.
“But does the part about sleeping together mean… that I have to come to this house every day?”
He nodded as if it was a matter of course.
“Yes.”
“But after work, it’s too much for me to stay at my house and then come here when it’s time to sleep.”
“Then you can just stay here.”
At his words, Ra Jin let out a short sigh as if in disbelief.
“How can I possibly do that?”
“Why not? Don’t worry. Everything a secretary needs will be brought in starting from today……”
When Jae Heon paused with a regretful expression, Ra Jin smiled.

“You called me ‘secretary’ again, Director.”
“….Add another clause. Calling each other by name is limited to when only two of us are in private time.”
As regrettable as it was, all Ra Jin could do was nod.
It was something.
Even when they were in university, the number of times he called her by name could be counted on one hand.
But now, she would be able to hear it more often than then.
‘It means I’ll be spending more nights with the director.’
Suddenly, her heart started to beat fast and Ra Jin gently pressed her chest with her palm.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick?”
Seeing Jae Heon looking at her with a worried face, her heartbeat got even faster.
She was worried that she might die of a heart burst at this rate.
She had to get used to this. Considering the time she would spend with him in the future, it would be really troublesome if this happened every time.
‘But… I wonder if there will ever be a day when I won’t feel anything by his side.’
If she couldn’t control her heartbeat, at least she had to maintain a poker face.
Ra Jin spoke in the calmest voice she could muster.

“No, I’m fine. Then, I will count the one you just called as a penalty. That makes it two times in total.”
“No, I haven’t written it in the contract yet.”
“An oral contract is still a contract, and those who violate it should be made to taste its bitterness. That’s my boss’s theory.”
“…That’s a rather harsh theory your boss has.”
Jae Heon let out a soft sigh.
Why had I been saying things like that? I regretted it, but it was already too late.
The woman, having taken a breath, opened her mouth again.
“I think it’s a bit much to fall asleep together every day. It would interfere with getting ready for work the next day. How about we skip the weekdays and just fulfill the second clause on the weekends? To carry it out only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.”
Tension was heavily written across Jae Heon’s forehead. His index finger unconsciously tapped rapidly on the armrest of the sofa.
This was a clear sign of his discontent.
‘Damn it.’
The truth was, Jae Heon wanted to fall asleep with her every day.
Just like a child who has tasted candy once can never forget its flavor, once he experienced the lightness, freshness, and comfort after a good night’s sleep, there was no going back.
But only on the weekends?
Of course, compared to before, he understood that this was also a considerable concession…

But he must not insist. He did not want to burden Ra Jin.
“Let’s do it on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. But, in return, tell me what you want. Other than the penalty clause, or calling each other by our names when we’re alone. If you have any wishes, I’ll grant them.”
Ra Jin shook her head.
There was nothing else she wished from him.
If she were to wish for more, it would be greedy, and greed inevitably led to trouble.
She didn’t know how long this contract would last, but she wanted to cherish it until the day it ended.
Upon hearing Jae Heon’s words, her face hardened.
“Be honest. It’s okay. Whatever amount you want, or accessories, bags, doesn’t matter.”
Amount? Accessories… bags?
The moment she realized what was implied, her racing heart slowly began to return to its normal pace.
Jae Heon always reminded her of this. That his feelings and hers were different.
“Do you think I would wish for such things from you, sir?”
“People usually want such things.”
Usually… Ra Jin swallowed a bitter laugh inwardly.

It seemed he often had experiences involving contracts like this.
As far as she knew, during the four years she worked as his secretary, there had been no times when Jae Heon had a girlfriend.
Not only because he didn’t have time for dating, but even when it wasn’t a particularly busy period, he had turned away all the women who approached him.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
