For an instant, the Grand Duke’s expression hardened. Just as his lips twitched, as if about to speak, Marvin Moore burst into desperate pleading.

“My L-Lord Count! Please spare me! I’ve already told everything to that man—that man!”

“What did you tell him?”

Instantly, Marvin Moore’s mouth clamped shut as though glued shut. Nerea let out a soft chuckle. It was absurd that he still held out, even though both he and she knew she’d already heard everything through Colton.

“Go on, Moore. Try saying it to my face—why exactly are you here?”

“…I was caught after inciting a riot in the Valer territory.”

Valer territory and riots. Nerea nodded.

“I see. But what kind of riot would make someone living in the capital travel all the way to Valer to instigate it?”

“It was a riot to restore the Gauwe royal line! B-but, my Lord Count—I have absolutely no connection whatsoever to the Gauwe dynasty or its prince!”

“Then why did you personally start a riot to restore Gauwe?”

“Well, that is… uh…”

The more Marvin Moore stammered, the narrower his eyes grew, those eyes holding a watery glint. Waves of primal fear washed over him instantly.
