She couldn’t understand what he meant. While Alejandro blinked repeatedly, clearly confused, Nerea seized that fleeting moment to take in every detail of him.

Those pitch-black, intense eyes; those big hands that, even while smiling brightly, never let go of hers; the cool, refined scent rising from his neck and the strands of black hair slipping between his fingers.

Everything about him that had saved her was unbearably beautiful and infinitely precious—just like the ordinary memory from exactly ten years ago at Gauwe Royal Palace when he’d saved her.

Back then, when she’d been left completely alone in Gauwe’s royal palace, Nerea had nearly given up.
