Eustar seemed to ponder Laila’s words seriously for a long while before finally opening his mouth to speak.

“I’ve always believed, Laila, that nothing in this world truly happens without a cause.”

Laila’s shoulders sank slightly, as though her strength had drained away. Yet Eustar continued expressing his thoughts with a solemn expression.

After a brief silence, Laila nodded.

“Yes, I understand what you mean. Still… I can’t bring myself to believe that Sync’s problem is the same as yours.”
