She stood in the middle of the hallway, hesitating to move forward, slowly shifting her gaze. After observing the furniture—adorned with wood, metal, or cheap crystal—and covered thickly in dust, Laila spoke.
“Many people died here too.”
Her voice sank downward, feeling as though it were weighted with a plummet, sinking into water. Eustar gently pulled her onto the tiles decorated with bright blue cornflowers.
