To Become Family with the Male Lead (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
“Ah, it’s a pleasure to meet you for the first time. I’m Lise Marceau of House Marceau.”
Before I knew it, I’d already greeted Madame Fenton. She was a beauty with silver hair and golden eyes. At a glance, it was clear Yurick had inherited his looks from his mother.
Just by appearance, she gave off a completely different aura than Isabelle. Though they seemed around the same age, Isabelle looked slightly sharp and fierce, whereas Madame Fenton possessed a calm and serene beauty.
“I’m glad to meet you too. In fact, I’ve often heard about you from Yune.”
“…….”
“Would you like to shake hands?”
Only when she extended her hand toward me did I snap back to my senses. Her voice was pure and gentle.
Her gaze held a hint of curiosity, but nothing more.
I realized Yune must have spoken positively about me. Just from the way Yune clutched my arm and laughed brightly, it was impossible to imagine she’d said anything bad about me.
Setting Yune aside, I wondered—had Yurick ever mentioned me to her? That thought made me slightly curious.
“But where are Madame Marceau and the maids? Why are you here alone?”
After a brief exchange of greetings, Madame Fenton asked.
Finding it hard to explain, I glanced at Master, who gave a slight shrug of her shoulders. With everyone already doubting whether I was truly of House Marceau, Madame Fenton—the lady of House Fenton—showing up and acting familiar with me made the situation awkward.
Oh-ho.
Though mischievous of me, I felt a small sense of satisfaction.
Master, who had grown unusually quiet compared to earlier, looked even more flustered. When I looked at her instead of answering Madame Fenton’s question, she even broke into a sweat.
“Oh… um, Madame. There was a misunderstanding, so the young lady has been waiting here alone for a moment.”
“A misunderstanding? What went wrong?”
Master’s tone was completely different from how she spoke to me. The once assertive woman was now practically bowing her waist to meet Madame Fenton’s eye level.
“Young Miss Marceau came to pick up an item with a business card bearing her reservation number… but the ink on the number had smudged entirely, so we couldn’t hand over the item. Thus, the maid accompanying her returned to the mansion to fetch another card.”
Master had preemptively spoken before I could say anything unnecessary. Though none of her words were false, the way she twisted the situation in her favor and then tried to slip away felt rather cowardly.
“This jewelry shop seems awfully meticulous. They asked me to bring another card just because one number was slightly smudged.”
I spoke honestly, pretending to be an innocent child. At times like this, being young really came in handy.
“Really? That is meticulous!”
Naïve Yune, unaware of the truth, simply marveled in admiration. Good, Yune—keep marveling!
“Hmm… that’s odd.”
Madame Fenton, sensing something strange, stared at Master. Master moved only her lips, as if deep in thought trying to defuse the situation, but the movement was stiff and unnatural.
“But what brings you here today, Madame? We’ve just received new items—would you like me to show you around?”
“Oh, I came today to look at jewelry for my daughter. Something simple.”
“But I hate jewelry! Can’t we just go to that antique shop over there instead?”
“No. What if Grandfather scolds you again? You have to buy something anyway—might as well pick something out now.”
Yune was more interested in old or unusual items than in jewels or flashy things. That antique shop ahead probably sold broken jars, shattered glass pieces, or worn-out dolls.
But even Yune couldn’t defy her mother. At her mother’s words, she clamped her mouth shut and headed toward the display of various bracelets.
“…Um, Lise. If you have time, would you mind picking out a bracelet that might suit our Yune?”
Madame Fenton spoke, noticing my gaze. I had nothing else to do anyway, and it would take Viti a while to arrive.
“Is that alright? Master told me to stay seated on the sofa, so I’ve just been standing here quietly.”
“It was only because I worried the young lady might find standing uncomfortable. Feel free to look around anytime you’d like.”
“How kind of you, Master.”
Seeing Master fidget nervously, I gave her a small smile.
“Yes, Lise. I think Yune would be happy if you chose something for her.”
“Yeah! Right! Sister, let’s look together!”
Yune, her mood instantly lifted, tugged at my arm.
When we approached the glass case together, glittering gold bracelets and ornaments shining with pure white light came into view. Regardless of her own taste, Yune asked whether each piece she saw suited her.
Honestly, none of them did. The jewelry inside this case suited Madame Fenton far more than Yune.
I glanced around, searching for a bracelet Yune might actually like.
At the far end, a keychain caught my eye—a cute rabbit charm, likely meant as a decoration for baby items.
The rabbit’s ears and eyes were intricately inlaid with onyx and diamonds, sparkling brightly.
But what drew my attention more than the gems was the rabbit’s innocent, childlike expression—somewhat reminiscent of Yurick Fenton.
“Oh my, did you pick something that suits Yune?”
“Oh, um…”

Following my gaze, Madame Fenton spotted the rabbit charm and smiled.
“How adorable. But Yune doesn’t really like this sort of thing.”
“I know.”
“Oh, so it’s something you like yourself, then?”
“No! I just thought it would suit Yurick.”
At my honest reply, Madame Fenton’s eyes widened in surprise. Had I said something foolish? If Yurick had been hiding his tastes from his mother, then yes—I’d certainly blundered. What a mess.
“Oh, no! Actually, it matches my taste! I don’t know why Yurick’s name even came up.”
Unaware of my anxiety, Madame Fenton fell momentarily silent. Instead, she stared intently at the charm I’d been looking at.
“Master.”
“Yes, Madame?”
Madame Fenton suddenly called out to Master.
“Could you wrap up that rabbit charm for me right away?”
“Oh, yes. We can provide that item immediately. Shall I prepare one for you?”
“Yes. I’d like to give it as a gift to the youngest young lady of House Marceau.”
Madame Fenton emphasized the words “youngest young lady” pointedly to Master. As if that weren’t enough, Master’s face turned pale, as though she’d hoped the matter would quietly pass.
Though satisfying, I was more flustered by Madame Fenton’s intention to gift it to me.
“Madame, I’m really fine! Truly!”
My gaze held no selfish desire. I didn’t even want it for myself—I’d only been looking because I genuinely thought Yurick would like it.
Madame Fenton, seemingly determined to give me the charm, took out a check through the maid beside her. I didn’t want to accept such an expensive item from someone I’d just met today.
Unmindful of my feelings, the charm had already been taken from the glass case and placed into a box.
“I really am fine! Above all, I can’t just accept something so expensive!”
My voice trembled slightly as I spoke. Madame Fenton stepped closer and bent her waist a little toward me.
“Could I ask you one favor, Lise?”
“…Yes?”
Why a sudden request? Surely she wasn’t planning some dreadful demand in exchange for the gift? As I worried, the wrapped item was handed to me. I never expected it would truly end up in my hands.
In my past life, accepting things carelessly like this usually led to trouble. After all, there’s no such thing as a free lunch—and even if there were, receiving such an expensive item for free felt suspicious.
“Yurick’s twelfth birthday is coming up soon.”
“…Huh?”
“Because of that, Grandfather, who resides in the west, has come to the mansion. But he’s extremely strict and keeps restraining Yurick—interfering in everything Yurick does.”
I already knew this from Yurick himself.
“But then, why…?”
“That’s precisely why I can’t give Yurick the birthday gift he truly wants. If I did, Grandfather would just dispose of it. So I’m hoping you, at least, could give him the gift he desires.”
Realizing her intention, I felt as if I’d been struck from behind. I suddenly felt like a terrible child for having doubted Madame Fenton just moments ago.
“Lise?”
But more than that, what struck my heart deeply was Madame Fenton’s genuine care for Yurick.
House Fenton ran a major trading company, and Yurick was their eldest son. I’d assumed both Madame Fenton and the Duke would be strict with Yurick, their heir.
“…Do you think Yurick will like it?”
I stared blankly at the wrapped box in my hands.
“Of course. I know Yurick’s taste well. That keychain is definitely something he’d love.”
“…That does seem right.”
“But it’s not just that, Lise. It’ll mean even more because it’s coming from you.”
“Really?”
“Will you do me this favor?”
I nodded carefully. As long as I could meet Yurick, it wasn’t a difficult request at all.
Grateful for my answer, Madame Fenton kissed me on the cheek. The brief touch of her lips felt vividly real. Without thinking, I reached up to touch the spot where her lips had lingered.
Just then, the door swung open loudly. It was about time for Viti to arrive, so I assumed it was her. As expected, it was Viti—but standing behind her was an unexpected figure.
“Mother?”
My heart sank. I hastily hid the wrapped box inside my skirt and rubbed my eyes in disbelief.
There stood Isabelle.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
