Madam’s voice trembled. She paused briefly, then finally stood up from her seat.

“I can’t wait any longer. I’ll go look for Roger myself.”

Yurick and I hastily rose as well. Knowing nothing of Roger’s whereabouts, we couldn’t possibly sit comfortably with our legs stretched out.

“Lise.”

“…?”

Madam called my name. Perhaps misinterpreting my quick rise alongside her, she looked at me with a resolute expression.

“It wouldn’t be wise to stop me. If Roger is badly hurt… it would be best for me to be by his side.”

“I know that too.”

Does she underestimate me just because I look like a ten-year-old girl? I understand the situation perfectly well. Still, I had already decided I needed to find Roger before she did.

Relieved by my reply, Madam immediately rushed out the door.

“I’ll report back as soon as I find Roger.”

“Thank you, Miss.”

The butler bowed slightly at the waist.

Since most people had left alone, the corridor was eerily quiet. We stepped out of the mansion and began searching the vast garden thoroughly. Even after checking from the very entrance of the main gate, there was no sign of Roger anywhere.
