The voice of that young girl was calm yet defiant.

“Hahaha, look at her!”

Then, the laughter of Tower Master Rohika was unbelievably cheerful.

So, to Roble, everything about the situation before his eyes was completely strange.

Five years ago, after bowing to the Tower Master, Roble had never once set foot in the tower’s basement. But he had to come down because the Tower Master suddenly called him to the basement.

“What is the situation right now?”

Rohika, who had been leaning on the railing and laughing, found Roble and gestured.

At the unexpected words, Roble hesitated and stood beside Rohika, looking down at the chaotic hall below.

There, a single girl and ten servants were facing off. But surprisingly, the girl had the upper hand.

The young girl, shaking a lantern over the oily floor, was threatening everyone except herself, and the servants were faltering, unable to deal with just one girl.

In that ridiculous situation, Roble was extremely perplexed. It seemed outrageous that such a farce was taking place here.

The blackhaired girl held up the lantern and sidled over. Then, the servants, too, moved quietly to snatch the fire and catch the girl.

The girl threw the lantern at a servant approaching her.

As the servants scrambled to catch the fire floating in the air, the girl darted out.

The servants ran to catch the girl in earnest, but a few slipped on the oil, falling down together. Thanks to that, the girl leisurely crossed the hall.

At the ridiculous sight, Rohika laughed again. But Roble couldn’t bring himself to laugh along.

“Ah, she’ll really escape like that.”

Rohika chuckled and flicked his finger outside the railing.

Then, a man in black clothes, appearing from nowhere, grabbed the girl by the nape of her neck.

At the man’s arrival, the servants who were a step late in rushing over stumbled back. Roble was also visibly surprised to recognize who the man was.

It was Rohika’s hound that he had only heard rumors about.

Like a shadow, dark and black, the hound was threatening at first glance.

However, the girl caught by him neither struggled nor screamed. She wasn’t scared. If she had been scared, she wouldn’t have sighed so calmly or asked so brazenly.

“What punishment will you give this time?”

Roble doubted his ears.

Rohika started laughing, banging his forehead against the railing.

After cackling for a while, Rohika shouted down in a cheerful voice.

“Evie!”

At Rohika’s call, the girl with her nape caught glanced up and then blatantly scowled at Rohika.

Meanwhile, the girl called Evie stared hard at Roble and then quickly turned her head, muttering something.

Her careless whisper didn’t reach the corridor above, so Rohika asked the hound.

“What did Evie just say?”

“Swindler, die,” he replied.

“Puhup!”

When Rohika’s hound answered bluntly, Rohika fell over laughing again.

The girl was strange enough, but Roble found Rohika, clutching his stomach and laughing, very unfamiliar and strange.
Had Rohika Sedro ever laughed so loudly? No, Rohika’s laughter was always sharp and cutting. But now, it seemed to roll around carelessly, as if she found something quite pretty.
