“Paul, Agatha, Amber. I’m asking the three of you.”

Edward, arms crossed, spoke with an unusually serious expression. As a result, the corners of the mouths of the three people standing beside him involuntarily tightened.

“I’m thinking of making Louisa’s birthday party a bit grander this time. Would it be possible to change the venue?”

Amber Jissen, Louisa’s personal maid, was slightly taken aback. With less than a month remaining, such a sudden change to the party location was far from common.

But she quickly understood. With the Allen family’s power and resources, what couldn’t be done?

Apparently everyone felt the same, as Paul asked in his usual relaxed tone,

“Where did you have in mind?”

“The newly completed summer villa. How about planning it around a boat ride on the lake there?”

Edward felt a hint of confidence in his plan—confidence that Louisa would be delighted.

His wife loved the southern seas and the vibrant autumn foliage of Quenel. She enjoyed lavish parties—though he now knew she especially loved them only when he was present—but she also quite liked relaxing in natural retreats.

‘Then combining good things should make something even better.’

Thus, a party held in a lovely retreat.

“I’ll renew my vows with Louisa there. I’ll declare before everyone present that you’re the only one I’ll spend my life with.”

He recalled an old promise he’d made to his wife when they were young.
