“Let’s go. Follow me!”

“Where to?”

“The patent office!”

Jeffrey finally grasped the situation. He rushed to open the rear door of Edward’s battered car.

Stuffing himself among the jumbled items in the back seat, he complained,

“It’s a real mess here. Clean up your car, boss!”

The royal carriage house, now essentially a parking lot due to the influx of vehicles for the banquet, was a testament to the influence of the name ‘Allen’.

“It’s no wonder Westwood is burning with jealousy,” Paul remarked from the driver’s seat, observing the line of cars outside.

“Most of them are Allen cars. Seems like a higher proportion than last year.”

“I see that too. My husband would have been so pleased to see this,” Louisa said, gazing through the car window at the scene.
Under the control of the royal guards, it was now Louisa’s turn to alight from the carriage. Had Edward been present, he would have escorted her, but today she was alone. She stepped out of the car with Paul’s assistance.

“Then, I’ll be off.”

“See you later.”

Acknowledging the servant’s farewell, she made her way to the Glory Palace where the party was being held.

The Glory Palace, true to its name, reflected the glory of the Etrania royal family. The flawless white stone pillars and walls, adorned with delicate carvings and gold decorations, spoke of the palace’s history and wealth.

As Louisa ascended the short carpeted staircase into the palace, she saw it bustling with people right from the entrance.

She passed by groups of people engaged in conversations. Those who recognized her nodded in greeting, and Louisa responded with a slight nod of her head.

Then, at the entrance of the party hall, someone waved at her.

“Lucy! Over here!”

It was Evelyn Brice, Louisa’s long-time friend, recently engrossed in books and running a reading club with a few ladies.

“Eli. It’s been a while.”

They exchanged light hugs.

“A few months, isn’t it? You haven’t changed a bit.”

“Four months. But Karen said I seemed to have lost a little weight.”

“Really? I can’t tell. But how do you maintain your skin?”

Evelyn scanned her and exclaimed.

“You look even younger than last time.”

“I just follow whatever the servants do. If you want, I’ll tell Mrs. Johnson to send you a letter.”

“Oh, please do.”

They laughed heartily, reminiscent of their girlhood days.

Evelyn, linking arms with her, asked,

“Have you thought about it?”

“About what?”

“My reading club.”

She nodded towards a group of ladies.

“Those are our reading club members. From the left, Duchess of Portland, Mrs. Ackerman, and Miss Ernst. Want to join and say hello?”

Evelyn had made this suggestion before. But Louisa had not been keen on expanding her social activities then and had put off answering. Today, the question returned.

She was about to decline out of habit when Edward’s words came to mind.

[I hear you’re close with Mrs. Brice. She runs a reading club, doesn’t she? Why don’t you join? It’ll be fun.]

‘Fun… maybe.’

Louisa pondered.

Certainly, the people she currently relied on were all tied to the name ‘Allen’.

Maybe it was time to seek something new. Deciding to make a different choice this time, she said,

“Sure. I’d like that.”

Louisa nodded.

Evelyn beamed at her friend’s agreement.

Leading Louisa into the group of women, she introduced her with a bright smile.

“Let me introduce you. This is Louisa Allen, my long-time friend.”

“Hello. I’m Louisa Allen.”
“Lucy, this is the Duchess of Portland, Mrs. Ackerman, and Miss Ernst, in that order.”

Following Evelyn’s introduction, the highest-ranking among them, the Duchess of Portland, extended her greeting first.

“Nice to meet you.”

“Pleased to meet you, Duchess of Portland. I’ve heard much about the Duke of Portland’s bravery.”

“Unfortunately, my husband is still on the frontlines, so he couldn’t attend. Shall we talk about it next time we meet?”

“Absolutely.”

Louisa responded with a gentle smile.

After the Duchess of Portland’s greeting, the others also began to offer their greetings in turn.

A woman with deep golden hair, as if infused with sunlight, smiled as she greeted,

“We’ve met before, haven’t we? Nice to see you again, Mrs. Allen.”

Her name was Emily Ernst, a lady from a family closely associated with Allen Company.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
