Louisa felt her heart drop at the sound of her husband’s weak voice. She asked urgently,

“You said this morning that it was resolved, didn’t you?”

“It was resolved, alright. It’s just that taking another hit is tough.”

“Our divorce has that big of an impact on you?”

“Of course.”

He said with a self-mocking laugh,

“You can imagine what kind of articles will be published. If investors get shaken and pull out, the projects we’re working on could go downhill fast.”

“With the company being so unstable, you’ve been handling it all alone until now…”

Louisa covered her mouth with her hand. He had been bearing it all alone to such an extent, without even mentioning a word to her…

“Is there anything else I can do to help?”

“No. There’s nothing for you to do.”

“Ed.”

“Just… give me some time. That’s all I ask.”

Even while seeking her understanding, Edward was adamant in his refusal. Louisa felt a surge of emotion but couldn’t bring herself to say anything in the face of her husband’s pitiful state.

She resigned herself and responded,

“Alright. When is the project going to be unveiled?”

“The plan is to do it by the end of this year, or early next year at the latest.”

“Not much time left then. So, let’s proceed with the legal process after the project is launched and on track.”

“Really… you mean that?”

“I told you. I want to find a way for us all to be happy.”

Louisa spoke with sincerity.

Hoping he could put down the burden of her and become more comfortable.

And she would let go of his unrequited love, hoping that in the future they would remain as good memories in each other’s pursuit of happiness.

“Thank you.”

With those words, Edward stood up from his seat. He felt like he might blurt out something foolish if he stayed any longer.

But as he was about to leave, he stopped abruptly. Edward parted his lips heavily.

“Louisa?”

“Yes?”

“You said it. Let’s end our unhappiness here.”

At his words, Louisa turned her head away, unable to respond.

Edward swallowed the tears that threatened to spill. He blinked several times, took a deep breath, and then said,

“Was every moment with me… like that?”

Louisa started to respond but stopped, fearing her voice would tremble with the tears welling in her eyes.

She forced herself to speak.

“No, it wasn’t.”

“Okay.”

Hearing her answer, Edward quietly closed the door and left.

Next to the Allen research facility, there’s a small office.

Its original owner was Guildford Theodore, a man who managed nearly all the business operations of Allen Company and was known for not yielding even to the president.

When he moved to a new office in the city center, the employees quietly transformed the office at the research facility into a common resting area.

This was also possible because Guildford’s departure meant the president’s tyranny followed him.

“Gilford!”

Edward entered the room with a bang, looking for his long-time employee.

“What’s the matter?”

However, the response came from behind him. Edward quickly turned around.

There stood a man with sharp features, stylishly wearing glasses that other nobles would find unseemly.

“What? Why did you come in behind me?”
“I just came to work.”

Edward checked his pocket watch at Guildford’s nonchalant response.

8:30 AM.

Indeed, he had arrived a bit early. Edward, unable to say anything, just closed his mouth.

Guildford walked past him, who was blocking the door, and placed his bag on the leather chair.

He then pulled out a small cloth, neatly folded in the desk drawer, and started wiping the desk with practiced motions, not even glancing at Edward.

“What brings you here so early in the morning? You never even pretended to listen when I begged you to come and check something.”

“How did you manage to marry your wife, Guildford? Tell me.”

“How? I treated her well.”

“I’m asking how you did that.”

Guildford tossed the cloth he used for wiping into a basket under the desk. He opened his bag and casually started taking things out.

“Why don’t you just divorce her?”

“What kind of crazy, wait, what?”

Edward, momentarily flustered, asked back, but he hadn’t misheard. Guildford spoke in a tone as casual as if ordering lunch.

“If you’re worried about dividing assets, I’ll fight for you to get the best possible ratio. But know that giving her nothing is impossible.”

“Shut it, Guildford.”

Edward growled. Guildford gave him a glance and sat down. Edward, striding up to his desk, said emphatically,

“I don’t know how you found out – no, it’s obvious, it must be Jeffrey, that damn guy.”

“I didn’t hear it from Curtis. Anyone with eyes would know.”

Guildford said as he pulled out a large file from the middle of his bookshelf.

“It’s almost time for the employees to come, so let’s go to the other room. It’s bad for the company’s image.”

“You need a way to reverse the divorce?”

Guildford crossed his arms as if surprised.

Male lead is a Destined Young Husband (Female-dominant)

One-sentence summary: Wife-master, listen to my explanation!

Li Ruantang, a young lady from a prestigious family, stumbled and fell. When she woke up, she saw a noble and beautiful young man sitting by her bedside, wiping away tears.

The young master had slightly reddened eyes, and his every move exuded charm.

The sight made Li Ruantang’s eyes hot and her heart flutter. After all, she had made a bet with the young master Meng from the neighboring family. If she couldn’t marry a husband before the end of the year, she would have to admit defeat and give up the jade she had worked so hard to obtain.

Outside the window, the flowers were in full bloom.

Rather than losing the bet, the jade, and her face, Li Ruantang calculated that it would be better to seek marriage with the young master in front of her, killing three birds with one stone.

…

Meng Jun never thought that an accident during a spring outing would lead to them rolling down a cliff and into a river, yet still survive.

Now they were trapped in an unknown village, and Meng Jun had overheard that the family who had rescued them had their own intentions.

After all, it was Li Ruantang who had lost her mind and sought marriage first. He was only trying to protect himself!

Glancing at Li Ruantang, who was listing her own merits, the young husband’s voice softened, and he blushed as he lied, “W-wife-master, Wife-master, don’t you remember me?”

The young husband’s voice was clear and handsome, coaxing Li Ruantang’s heart to be soft and sweet, and she spared no effort to protect him.

It wasn’t until they returned to the capital that Li Ruantang suddenly remembered.

When they had fallen off the cliff, in order not to implicate Wei Yunruo, whom he secretly admired, the young husband had instead pulled her, who was slightly farther away, down the cliff with him…

Short summary by Yuushi L: Initially, the male lead (ML) liked another girl, while the female lead (FL) liked the ML. Both fell off a cliff. The FL temporarily lost her memory, and the ML, fearing others might take advantage of him, claimed FL was his wife while they were staying in a village. Later, when they returned home, the FL regained her memories and remembered that the ML liked someone else, so she kept her distance from him. However, during their time living together in the countryside, the ML’s view of the FL had completely changed. From this point, his pursuit of the FL begins.
