Although the kiss they’d shared that morning had softened the atmosphere between them, she still hadn’t heard from him whether he’d cooperate in bringing their child back.

But what could possibly be more urgent than that?

So Yeon stepped out of the room and approached Seo Jun, who was sitting on the sofa, absorbed in his laptop. She gently tapped his back.

“Um…”

“What?”

Her heart pounded as if it might burst at the sight of his still-cool expression, but she’d rather become a seductress tempting Tae Seo Jun than act pitifully. So Yeon stroked the nape of his neck as he calmly looked at her and smiled as sweetly as she could.

“I have something to talk about.”

He had a pretty good idea what she was up to—trying to coax him gently into submission. Seo Jun suddenly grabbed the hand resting on his shoulder and pulled her firmly onto his sturdy lap.

“Mom!”

The moment So Yeon let out a startled cry from the sudden force, Seo Jun wrapped one arm tightly around her waist—like a tiger swiftly capturing fleeing prey with its front paw.

“I know you’re clever, Eom So Yeon. You’re just laying groundwork for Hyun Woo.”

“W-What do you mean, ‘laying groundwork’? Do you really see me as some kind of fisherman?”

She’d clearly been playing the seductress, yet this man had reduced her to nothing more than a mere fisherwoman. Slightly offended, So Yeon arched her eyebrows like a sly cat perched on a stove.

“There’s a shoot in Yangpyeong next week, right? Let’s go right after that wraps up.”
