A few days ago, Director Yoon Ji Wan’s film began shooting, and its lead actors, So Yeon and Seo Jun, plunged into a grueling filming schedule.

To Hyun Woo, his mother—who frequently appeared on TV screens—was the “CF Queen,” while his father, who stayed home all day, was just a freeloader. With little experience of the world and only capable of thinking in absolutes of “right” or “wrong,” that’s simply how Hyun Woo saw things.

After all, his dad—who greeted him almost daily when he returned from kindergarten and always played with him, and who, even if he seemed busy in his study, always moved with leisure—naturally appeared that way through a child’s eyes. Thus, Hyun Woo was overjoyed, raising both hands in delight, when he learned Seo Jun had gotten busy with filming.

Although Hyun Woo didn’t yet fully grasp the concept of fatherhood, even his young eyes could tell that someone who worked diligently like his mother seemed far more stable than a freeloader.

Instead, using boredom from his father’s absence as an excuse, Hyun Woo brought Jessica and Black along and crossed over to Gahoe-dong, where for the second day straight, he monopolized all the affection from his grandparents.

And though today was supposed to be the day he returned to Nonhyeon-dong, Chairman Tae gently coaxed Hyun Woo to stay at the main house until Seo Jun and So Yeon finished filming.

But Hyun Woo wasn’t so easily swayed. Despite being only four years old, his mastery of playing hard to get was already that of a seasoned expert. Especially his bright, sparkling eyes and sunny smile—weapons that utterly charmed Tae Seok Ho and Cha Yeo Jin.

Though his mind was already made up, Hyun Woo delayed his reply until evening, when he finally agreed to Tae Seok Ho’s suggestion. And what Hyun Woo gained from that deal was…

“Wow, this place is really good!”

“Where on earth did you pick up that way of speaking, kid?”

“Mom made me some fried rice before, and it was seriously delish! Dad said that while eating it.”

“That good, huh?”

“Yeah! It’s delish, Grandpa!”

It was seafood scallion pancake specially ordered from a famous restaurant.

Hyun Woo buried his nose into his plate as if telling them not to talk while he was eating, and Tae Seok Ho—delighted not only by the boy’s grown-up palate but also by his mature manners beyond his age—kept laughing heartily, as though there couldn’t possibly be a happier moment. It was as if another guileless, empty-headed scarecrow had just appeared right before his eyes.
