She said she would come, and even if she wanted to flee, there was nowhere to go in this unfamiliar place. But his impatience grew with each passing moment, especially as she was running a bit late than expected.
Seo Jun sprang up from the sofa with a disbelieving snicker and strode quickly to the master bedroom door, staring at the doorknob. He then slowly reached out for it.

That’s when it happened.

Knock, knock.

He paused abruptly.

The dull sound of wood stopped all of Seo Jun’s movements.

But in that brief moment, his throat twitched a couple of times. Although he knew who was knocking, his body reflexively showed delight at her arrival. Continuing that reaction, Seo Jun flung open the door.

“I’m here.”

“I know,” So Yeon stood there and spoke.

“Were you waiting?”

“Asking even though you know, is that your hobby, Eom So Yeon?”

Seo Jun replied casually, slightly furrowing his brows. He was bothered by his own heart loudly beating at her shy behavior.

Taking a step out of the master bedroom, Seo Jun gestured for her to come along and extended his hand. It was an offer to escort her to the car.

Drawn by his gentlemanly demeanor, So Yeon took his hand, her face slightly reddening.

Meanwhile, Seo Jun’s gaze swept from her high-heeled feet up to her hair, pausing for a moment.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

“This.”

When So Yeon asked shyly, Seo Jun simply untied the ribbon that loosely held her hair, letting her lustrous, voluminous hair fall over her shoulders like a curtain.

“It looks much better this way.”

Praising his own handiwork, Seo Jun twirled the yellow ribbon on his finger and slipped it into his pocket.

“Did I look that terrible?”

“A little.”

Seo Jun spitefully retorted, trying to hide his trembling heart.

“You’re too blunt. Making people feel embarrassed…”

She had deliberately chosen his favorite yellow ribbon. Even though it was a small detail, So Yeon’s clear eyes dimmed, feeling like her efforts were disregarded. Focusing on her slightly pouting face, Seo Jun showed his white teeth and said,

“You should’ve just come without spending time getting dressed and doing makeup. Wasn’t that a waste of time?”

His words, said with a smile, were a reprimand. However, his following remark was affectionate enough to overturn her hurt feelings.

“Plain Eom So Yeon is the prettiest.”

“I’m… pretty?” Her face unexpectedly turned red at his compliment.

So Yeon was still unaware that Seo Jun’s usually cold brain recognized only her as a woman.

Yet, she seemed to know how to melt him.

“Oppa.”

“What?”

“Seo Jun oppa.”

This endearment was a common expression for Yeon, but for So Yeon, it took great courage. Yet, she wanted to call him that at least once.

Seo Jun’s face momentarily blanked, stunned by her affectionate gesture. But his eyes were intensely warm and clear.

“Do you dislike me calling you that?”

“Why would I? I like it too much.”
But his gaze locked onto her was intensely hot and clear.

“Do you dislike me calling you that?”

“Why would I? I like it too much.”

Seo Jun, with a suave smile, gently took her small hand and walked down the corridor and the stairs, matching So Yeon’s pace.

Jung Hwa met Jo In Ha at the fashion show event.

For Yu Jung Hwa, who only had eyes for making Tae Seo Jun hers again, Jo In Ha, who knew the ins and outs of CN Entertainment, was more than useful.

Having worked together on commercials and films several times before, and even staying at the same hotel, the two had dinner together.

It was then that Jung Hwa’s ears perked up as she heard a piece of information she had missed earlier in her haste. She was startled to learn that the woman currently with Tae Seo Jun in Malaga was Eom So Yeon.

She wondered if it was deja vu from four years ago, a repeating situation. In any case, Eom So Yeon was an annoying woman who persistently irked her.

However, Jung Hwa felt somewhat relieved thanks to Jo In Ha’s attitude. He was visibly emotional while talking about visiting Eom So Yeon at the filming site in Spain after finishing his schedule in Milan, indicating they were not just acquaintances.

Jo In Ha showed up at the Sky Lounge just as Jung Hwa was sipping her brandy.

“You really came quickly.”

“Didn’t you know? Didn’t I say I would hurry?”

Jung Hwa handed him a freshly filled glass as he sat across from her.

About an hour into their drinks, both were pleasantly tipsy.

Raising his glass, In Ha downed the cognac in one go. Watching him, Jung Hwa seized the relaxed atmosphere to subtly mention that she used to be Tae Seo Jun’s girlfriend and might start again soon.

Of course, it was just her wishful thinking, but In Ha’s expression brightened. She sensed a kindred spirit in him.

“You mentioned during dinner that you’d go to Spain once your work here is done.”

“That’s right.”

“I wanted to go too, to support him, but I hesitated. You might know, but Seo Jun hates drawing attention. Without anyone else close to him there, I didn’t know what to do…”

Expressing her concerns, Jung Hwa trailed off, only for In Ha to suggest with a smirk,

“If that worries you, why don’t we go together? Though I’ll be free only after a week due to a photoshoot.”

“Hmm… I don’t have any other plans for a while… Is that okay?”

“Why not? Let’s do that.”

“Then, shall we? While waiting, a break in Italy doesn’t sound bad.”

Jung Hwa, who had previously given up on going to Malaga, decided to head to Cadiz instead before leaving her room.

And now, with Jo In Ha accompanying her, she had a plausible reason to visit Seo Jun without feeling awkward in front of the crew at the filming site.

It was about time her purpose for arranging this meeting was somewhat achieved.

“Wow! Who do we have here? Isn’t that Jo In Ha? Oh my, Yu Jung Hwa too?”
The woman who approached the table with a loud voice was none other than Oh Min Jung.

Before joining the Spanish filming team, she had stopped in Milan to stock up on European luxury brands she had her eyes on. Consequently, both her hands and her manager’s were laden with shopping bags from famous brands.

“May I join you?”

“Of course.”

With Jung Hwa’s consent and In Ha’s nod, Min Jung handed her shopping bags to her manager and quickly sent her to the room before sitting down.

“You two aren’t on some secret overseas date, are you?”

After quenching her thirst from a day of duty-free shopping, Min Jung asked with a playful, suspicious look, prompting In Ha and Jung Hwa to react seriously.

“Of course not.”

“Does it look like that to you?”

“Hehe, just checking.”

Although Min Jung had occasionally crossed paths with Jung Hwa at beauty salons and other places, this was her first time interacting with her up close. Eager to befriend Jung Hwa, a top actress, Min Jung boldly asked,

“Can I call you ‘unni’?”

“Well, it’s almost like we just met, isn’t it too soon?”

Jung Hwa responded with an unreadable, blank expression.

“Oh, do you dislike it? I’m sorry if I was rude.”

It’s a well-known fact that to survive in the entertainment industry as an actress, one has to be tough, regardless of their personality. Min Jung was no exception, but Yu Jung Hwa was exceptionally tough.

Feeling slightly intimidated, Min Jung backed down, but Jung Hwa curved her eyebrows and said,

“I never said that.”

“But you rejected me.”

“Not at all. I’ve already dropped hints.”

“Ah, I see… Unni!”

Relieved from the tension, Min Jung yelled out and looked at Jung Hwa with a playful annoyance. It was her unique way of expressing friendliness.

“That’s better. It’s like I’ve gained a sister I never had.”

Jung Hwa’s red lips curved into a mysterious smile as she finished speaking.

Though Oh Min Jung was known for her simplicity in the entertainment world, having her close might be useful for Jung Hwa in her own ways.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
