Eom So Yeon, determined to leave, and Tae Seo Jun, insisting on adhering to the contract.

The stalemate between Director Yoon Ji Wan, who wanted to push forward as planned, and Writer Kwon Eun Young, still clinging to biased views despite the tilted balance.

The tense standoff between these four was ultimately resolved by Gu Won Hoo.

“Director Yoon’s narrative is quite solid, and Writer Kwon’s screenplay is truly excellent. Moreover, with veterans including Tae Seo Jun doing their part, why fret prematurely? And Eom So Yeon, practically making her debut with this project, won’t be criticized for hiding the truth. It’ll be a minor issue in the public eye, a mere gossip matter that I and CN’s PR team can handle. If there are any other concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak up.”

No one objected to President Gu’s summary. They just exchanged agreeing glances.

Everyone recognized that President Gu was one of the few capable of quelling any public outrage with his exceptional media play and public opinion manipulation.

Moved by the praise for her script, Writer Kwon tried to contain her rising smile. However, no voice of opposition came from her lips.

Then, not long after, Director Yoon Ji Wan made his decision.

“Alright. We can’t afford to lose Tae Seo Jun, and there will be no change to Eom So Yeon’s role. Let’s keep today’s discussion amongst ourselves for the time being.”

Director Yoon’s decision to embrace both the star actor and the potential time bomb of a newcomer was matter-of-fact, devoid of emotion.

But gradually, a faint smile appeared on his lips, reminiscing about the first time he saw Eom So Yeon.

In the emptied room, only Seo Jun and So Yeon remained.

Soyeon, looking around the familiar room layout, moistened her dry lips with the warm tea Seo Jun had offered.

Seo Jun too, holding his cup, focused on Soyeon’s pale face.

“So, are you still determined not to do it?”

Despite the resolution of the issue, Soyeon’s expression remained dark. Her face clearly indicated her intention to leave. Seo Jun had asked everyone else to leave the room, leaving only Soyeon, but it served as a plausible reason for a separate discussion.

“First, I appreciate you taking my side. But that was an overstep. It’s my issue. I should have been the one addressing it. Though it won’t happen again, I’d prefer if you refrain from doing so in the future.”

Soyeon was worried that Seo Jun might get entangled in negative rumors or tarnish his image because of her. That’s why she firmly stated that he should not interfere in her matters again.
Usually a woman of few words, So Yeon’s ability to talk freely and provide sharp advice intrigued Seo Jun. His gaze lingered on her as he listened to her voice.

“Is it that a woman giving birth should naturally be blessed, but an unmarried woman having a child deserves condemnation? As if she’s promiscuous? No, that’s not it. It’s because she’s a woman that she can perform such a remarkable feat. I was just correcting Kwon’s odd logic. I never meant to be contrary. It seems Eom So Yeon misunderstood me.”

Birth, marriage, woman, child.

These words, relating to her situation, seemed so out of character for Seo Jun to articulate. It was evident that everything he said was meant for her, yet he pretended otherwise.

“Ah, I want to cry…”

Struggling to hold back her tears, So Yeon’s voice choked as she gazed at Seo Jun’s flawless face. Despite staying strong in even harsher situations, she found it difficult to do so in front of Seo Jun. Her voice came out charged with emotion.

“Even securing my role in Director Yoon’s project. Should I bow deeply in gratitude for your efforts, Director? Not at all! I’ve painfully learned that anything easily gained demands a bigger price. And there I was, unaware of being pawned off… Becoming a fool is so easy.”

It seemed like mere sympathy to her, cheap and dispensable. Resenting Seo Jun, she accused him sharply.

“Is that your complaint?”

“I can’t just drink any water when I’m thirsty. Someone else, deprived of that water because of me, would suffer from thirst.”

Seo Jun smiled faintly, lips neatly pressed together.

Is she too naive or too aware of the world’s calculations? He had deliberately avoided mentioning it, knowing this reaction would follow.

What had she been through to become so tough? Or was this her inherent nature? Regardless, if she had entrusted her child to her parents, she probably hadn’t parted amicably with the child’s father. What kind of despicable person would leave his child and woman…

Yet despite life’s rough journey, her face retained its innocence and youth.

She was my first woman, and it seemed I was her first man. The overwhelming joy I felt when I embraced her for the first and last time was also a first.

In the face of this undeniable truth, it was pointless to add any other reason.

Being honest now…

Even if it was love at first sight, it wouldn’t be an overstatement.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
