“Yong Jun and Yi Jun step forward with their spouses, but Seo Jun, still without a partner and keeping his identity as my son a secret, is suffocating me. How long must this continue?”
“Seo Jun is more than just an actor, which the owner knows better than anyone. Who else but us will believe in that boy?”
“That’s true.”
Cha Ye Jin nodded slightly.
“Of course, I’m anxious too, it’s about my child. But everything has its time.”
Tae Seo Jun was a notorious left-hander.
But now, he could be considered ambidextrous, using his right hand as skillfully as his left.
Seo Jun’s fierce temperament to pursue only perfection, like his exceptional looks and physical condition, was inherent. Unlike his gentle-natured older brothers, the youngest son never easily complied, differing fundamentally from the bottom.
To summarize Chairman Tae Seok Ho’s words, it was about waiting patiently until the youngest realized for himself how wonderful and valuable it is to build and protect a family with a partner.
“As usual, he never listens to me, so please try to persuade him.”
“I’m always keeping an eye on Seo Jun. Don’t worry and go down to the banquet hall.”
“Of course.”
Cha Ye Jin’s complaint extended a bit longer than intended when she stopped by her husband’s office before the party. Rising from her seat, she gently placed her hand on her husband’s shoulder and asked.
“So, where is Seo Jun right now? He’s going abroad for a shoot soon, but we should see him before that.”
“There’s a saying about not seeing what’s right under your nose. But instead of looking for the disobedient son, why don’t you take care of me?”
“Of course, I should.”
Smack!
“I’ll be back.”
With a light kiss and a beautiful smile, Ye Jin hurried out of the chairman’s office.
“Hehe…”
Feeling the warmth of his wife’s recent presence, Seok Ho gently caressed his cheek and pressed the intercom connected to his direct secretary’s office.
[Dash] Yes, Chairman.“About that thing I asked you to handle previously. How’s it going?”
[Dash] Benitoite is quite a rare gem, so it took some time to find.“So, when?”
[Dash] You should be able to see it by next Wednesday.“Earlier than expected, that’s good. I understand. Thank you for your effort.”
A pair of mandarin ducks.
Perhaps this is what a harmonious couple looks like.
Tae Seok Ho was eagerly preparing a gift for his wife, along with his thirty-sixth proposal, looking forward to their upcoming wedding anniversary.
“Wow…!”
A short exclamation burst from the shop master’s lips as he intently gazed at So Yeon. The complete and perfect appearance of Eom So Yeon from head to toe was indeed admirable.
Having seen many famous celebrities, actors, and models pass through this beauty shop, encountering such radiant, clear skin and exceptional beauty was a rare experience.
The understated makeup and half-up hairstyle were utterly lovely, and the rose gold dress, clinging to her slim yet curvy figure, amplified So Yeon’s elegant charm with its sequins and sheer fabric.
Her slim waist and snugly fitting hips were slightly imperfect. The shop master, skilled at adjustments, corrected this as he seated So Yeon in the chair.
“So, what do you think?”
Even though he had styled her, the shop master couldn’t help but feel that So Yeon’s final look was beyond any high praise. His confidence shone through as his heavily lined eyes widened.
“Of all the stylings I’ve received, I like this the best. Thank you, Teacher.”
Soyeon, absorbing her reflection in the mirror, sincerely expressed her gratitude, prompting the shop master, who finished her look with a tiara in her elegantly braided hair, to smile contentedly.
“Soyeon, you haven’t had any work done on your face. I can tell. How can your skin be so fair and flawless? You should really thank your parents for your beauty.”
“Oh, you flatter me.”
“There’s no need to be modest. President Gu specially asked me to take care of you, but there’s not much I need to do with your natural beauty.”
“…….”
Continuing praise left Soyeon blushing, both embarrassed and shy.
“Did you know? No matter how beautiful the celebrities here are, in terms of aura or looks, they can’t surpass Eom So Yeon.”
The shop master, conscious of the people outside the fitting room, leaned close to Soyeon and whispered.
“Really?”
“I’m just telling it like it is. Tonight at the party, Eom So Yeon will surely stand out the most. So don’t be nervous and fully enjoy the envious glances of others. You deserve it. Be confident and haughty, it suits you. Your confidence will make you even more captivating.”
“…….”
Soyeon continuously looked at herself in the mirror.
Was it the mature woman’s low and calm voice that gave her courage, even though it might just be a professional compliment?
Confidence filled her hazel eyes, shimmering with a mysterious energy.
The chandeliers’ lights brightly illuminated the spacious banquet hall with high ceilings.
The distinguished guests who entered the hall in their luxurious attire were indeed glamorous. Those belonging to the top 1% naturally blended into their circle with effervescent laughter, showcasing their status.
Just arriving at the Elstella Hotel, Eom So Yeon was escorted by President Gu Won Hoo into the grand lobby.
Click, click…
The line of reporters behind the barricade frantically snapped photos of Soyeon and Won Hoo.
Initially daunted by the flashing camera lights, Soyeon regained her composed smile as she reached the photo zone.
“President Gu Won Hoo, could you naturally link arms with Eom So Yeon?”
“Having such an important role in your debut work, how do you feel about it?”
The reporters bombarded them with questions, but Soyeon and Won Hoo waved their hands like a couple, striking plausible poses while conserving their words.
It wasn’t a situation for interviews, but the conversation they had in the car on the way here was far from light, making their words weigh heavy.
Won Hoo had learned about Soyeon’s child. His mind buzzed as if stung, unable to easily believe the news. Soyeon’s expression was too serious for a joke, and accepting it as truth was shockingly unbelievable.
“Is that true?”
“Yes. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier.”
Won Hoo asked repeatedly, and each time, Soyeon’s unwavering response was the same.
“We should discuss this with the drama production company. It shouldn’t change anything. The CN PR team will just have to work harder.”
Right before getting out of the car, Gu Won Hoo’s conclusion was to face the situation head-on.
It was when Won Hoo and Soyeon turned to face the reporters.
“There, there!”
“Whoa!”
“Wow!”
The impactful presence of Tae Seo Jun, striding into the photo zone, surprised everyone. His unexpected appearance was unforeseen by Won Hoo, Soyeon, and everyone else. But the reporters, thrilled by the rare appearance of the usually reclusive Seo Jun, hurried to get both men to stand on either side of Soyeon.
As the three of them lined up side by side as requested, the reporters’ excitement intensified.
“Why is Director Tae here?”
“Just. Bored, so I thought I’d come.”
“What’s with your outfit?”
“Not like I came naked.”
Seo Jun’s attire – a white shirt and black slacks, not a tuxedo – was a complete break from the formal dress code.
Despite his casual appearance, seemingly indifferent to the party, Tae Seo Jun’s handsome features and physicality that perfectly suited any outfit played a significant role. If one were to pick the most dazzling person among those who passed through the photo zone today, it would undoubtedly be Tae Seo Jun.
He was the very man who made one acutely aware of how unfair the world could be in terms of natural endowment.
“……!”
What, what is this…!
Caught between the two towering men, So Yeon felt a moment of dizziness as she listened to their conversation.
Seo Jun had grasped her hand from behind.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
