After breakfast, the adults, accompanied by Hyunwoo, set off to the hot spring village.

Harrison Hot Springs is an onsen area about a 2-hour drive from Vancouver, and everyone hastily planned a 1-night, 2-day itinerary and headed there together.

In reality, the adults’ deep consideration for Seojun and Soyeon being alone together was more about discussing the future than enjoying the hot springs.

After seeing off Hyunwoo and his parents and returning home, Seojun and Soyeon came to the living room.

Soyeon, who brought a tray of cinnamon tea from the kitchen, casually asked Seojun, “Are you okay? You seemed quite drunk yesterday.”

“Why, did I make some kind of mistake?”

With an indifferent remark, Soyeon, whose slightly hopeful anticipation was shattered, let out a sigh and puffed out her nose.

“Don’t you remember?”

“Well…”

“Hmph…!”
Soyeon glared at Seojun with a disapproving look. The natural attitude of Seojun, so different from the passionate and intense night before, despite the temperature difference, was the reason.

Oh, this is really too much!

I was excited at the words of dating! What a fool I was!

From this morning until now, he hasn’t said a word. Was it because he doesn’t remember? Is this guy really having amnesia?

“If you’ve finished it, give it here!”

In a huff, Soyeon snatched the teacup from Seojun’s hand and went to the kitchen.

Her heart pounded at his confession from last night. All her efforts to make eye contact with Seojun felt foolish. Ironically, he doesn’t even remember what he said.

“Tch! What kind of dating is this…?”

Standing in front of the sink, clattering and rinsing the teacup, Soyeon bit down on her swollen lips. Her eyes, now filled with disappointment, had become a shade darker. It was truly a heartbreaking situation.
Tomorrow is Hyunwoo’s birthday.

On that day, only a few close acquaintances were invited for an intimate dinner.

Thinking about Yeonhee’s story that the engagement ceremony would take place in Seoul and it would be a farewell party introducing him and her, where they would send off Hyunwoo, Soyeon deliberately shifted her thoughts in that direction.

As Soyeon finished the dishes, contemplating how to celebrate Hyunwoo’s birthday and what food to prepare, she locked the door and turned her body around in that moment.

Bang!

“Mom!”

There was a moment of surprise, but before she could blink, Soyeon, sitting at the sink, was pushed back by the familiar high-pressure atmosphere. As Seojun, who had approached with his tall figure, bent over Soyeon.

“…….?”

“Why, why? What, what do you want to say? Wha, what’s going on?”

Disappointment followed expectation, but Soyeon, unable to help herself, stuttered quite a bit again.
Regardless of the situation, seeing him again in front of her made her want to see him more. However, trying to act nonchalant with a rough tone, her tongue got twisted.

Even though it didn’t seem like it at all, how amusing she must have been to poke at him occasionally. Seojun chuckled, widening his lips on both sides.

“Are you mad?”

“Why, why would I be angry?”

“Then what’s with that expression?”

Seojun pointed out the discontent on Soyeon’s face and lowered his head.

“Move, move! I’m not in the mood for this!”

Different from last night and today, he was a man who instantly dispelled whatever he set his mind to.

With her eyes glaring like saucers, Soyeon pushed Seojun’s chest forcefully, holding her ground between her legs. However, Seojun closed the gap, pulling Soyeon’s waist tightly.

“See? You’re angry.”

“If I’m angry? I don’t even know why I’m like this.”

“Why wouldn’t I know?”
“Hmph, fine then!”

“I’m not fine.”

“What do you mean?”

“I’ll answer as you ask, but it might make Eom Soyeon very embarrassed. Still, should I say it?”

The moment Soyeon fell silent was due to his deep gaze and his husky voice.

“Do you have nothing to be embarrassed about? What on earth…”

“Why act like this when you know? Instead of regretting, how about we finish what we started at night?”

“Finish what we started at night? What is that…”

Could it be… instead of kissing, did they fall asleep? Talking about that!

The eyes that had been gazing at him blinked in surprise. The lips that had been teasingly moving suddenly stopped.

As much as the heart had been tormented, it seemed to quickly unravel. The pursed small lips curved into a shy smile, as if saying, “When did I become like this?” It felt like he was the only person who could make the thoughtful me become so simple.

The hesitant laughter spread across the entire face in an instant.
“I didn’t forget, you know?”

“Are you crazy?”

Seojun sprinkled a low-sinking gaze and a sinister smile over Soyeon’s petite face.

“How excited I was. How much I liked you. Both times.”

“Heh…!”

I must be crazy!

Soyeon’s face, realizing that she had completely fallen for the prank, flushed bright red at first sight.

In the daytime, the little guests invited to the birthday party came and went once.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
