“I have something to say.”

Damion looked straight at Ansi and opened his mouth. She nodded, as if urging him to speak.

“From now on… until we leave, no one from Orphe will come to this house.”

“…Is it because of me?”

“It’s for both of us. Truthfully, I never got along well with the Duke and Duchess or the Viscount. We were merely a family in name. That’s also why I claimed I wanted Orphe.”

His lifelong resolve to act out a harmonious family in front of Ansi was now useless. Thus, Damion calmly confessed his true situation.

Ansi’s eyes flickered.

But it wasn’t from hearing something new.

Ansi looked down briefly with a trace of sadness, then reached out her hand. Her slender fingers gently rested on Damion’s knuckles. She slowly stroked the back of his hand, as if trying to soothe him.

“I already know what Cardian did to you. I also know that the Duke and Duchess neglected you.”

“…I see.”

“So, while you were asleep, I said a few things against them. I’m sorry for interfering in your affairs.”
