The three of them entered the barracks used as an armory.

“What do you think? Impressive, isn’t it?”

When Jennifer opened a large wooden crate, it was filled with long rifles.

Christine picked up one rifle, adjusted his stance this way and that, and began examining it keenly like a hawk.

“I like it. I modified the muskets the enemy used in the last war into flintlock mechanisms. It’s much lighter now and fires faster.”

Adele’s expression turned puzzled.

“Why are you showing me this? Don’t tell me…”

“Bring that one over.”

“That one… you mean?”

Jennifer asked, sounding surprised.

“Mm.”

A moment later, Jennifer returned with a small wooden box. Inside lay a compact, elegant pistol with a silver body adorned with graceful engravings.

“This is a newly developed pistol. It has a higher rate of fire than a musket and is portable.”

Jennifer added proudly to Christine’s words.

“It’s a brand-new weapon even the royal family hasn’t touched yet.”
