It was early morning when Tanya woke up.

“Aaahhh!”

Stretching widely, she shuffled drowsily toward the kitchen.

Since she’d gone to bed early the night before, she planned to hurry and prepare breakfast, then wake Adele. She also needed to get the ingredients ready for the dessert she was to deliver to the imperial palace.

Come to think of it, did Lord Weiss not come home last night?

“Tch, it really would’ve been great if things worked out well between him and the young lady.”

Still regretful, she clicked her tongue and was just about to open the kitchen door when—

Startled, she stood frozen like a statue for a moment.

Adele was asleep, slumped over the counter.

Directly across from her, Lord Weiss was also slumped over, facing Adele, sleeping just as soundly. Their faces were so close they nearly touched.

The newly risen morning sun bathed their heads in a warm orange glow.

The atmosphere between the two—slightly disheveled, pleasantly drowsy—felt strangely intimate.

It was as if she’d accidentally glimpsed a private moment she wasn’t meant to see.
