When asked to write the alphabet in order, Rosette wrote the letters fluently without hesitation.

Wondering if she had just memorized the order, I called out random letters for her to write, but again she showed no hesitation.

Even if she had memorized everything, there should have been some signs of hesitation, but Rosette showed none at all.

“How……”

As I muttered without realizing, Rosette, who had been writing with pursed lips, looked up and smiled.

“I told you I memorized it all.”

“Did you really memorize it?”

“Yes!”

Rosette didn’t stop there and wrote a few simple words in her notebook. Book, pencil, butterfly, flower, and so on. They were short words, but it was amazing. Lady Noyer sighed as she held Rosette’s notebook.

“How did you memorize this all by yourself?”

“I just copied what was in the book.”

It wasn’t a lie. In the past, Rosette had learned words on her own by looking at books under the pressure of Duke Dallas.

However, to Lady Noyer, Rosette’s words were just shocking. She wondered whether she should praise Rosette for diligently preparing or scold her.

‘Being diligent is good. But isn’t this too much?’

But she couldn’t help but praise the child who was looking up at her as if expecting something.

“Well done.”

Lady Noyer gently patted Rosette’s head and added.

“But you shouldn’t overdo it.”

“I’m not overdoing it. I find this fun.”

“Well, that’s good then.”

Rosette, as she always did, rolled her eyes and watched Lady Noyer’s reaction.

‘Is this not right?’

She had received praise, but Lady Noyer seemed extremely surprised. It didn’t seem like a big deal.

‘Did I do something wrong?’

Rosette agonized throughout the lesson time. Hoping she wouldn’t get scolded.

After the lesson ended, Lady Noyer immediately rushed to Duke Adrian. She wanted to report the amazing fact she had discovered.

Duke Adrian, who had been handling documents, stopped everything to greet her.

“So, how is Rose’s lesson going?”

“It’s incredible.”

Duke Adrian’s lips twitched at Lady Noyer’s answer. However, he quickly controlled his expression and asked again.

“In what way?”

“Just everything is remarkable. She seems to be the most intelligent student I’ve ever taught. Perhaps even more so than Young Master Daniel.”

Duke Adrian put down his quill pen and listened attentively.

“More than Daniel?”

In the past, Lady Noyer had also marveled at Daniel’s extraordinary intelligence while teaching him. She had said similar words then too.

Lady Noyer, belatedly noticing Duke Adrian’s reaction, continued her explanation.

“Yes. She mastered the alphabet in just two days. Not only did she learn it, but she can read words fluently and even write simple words.”

Duke Adrian nodded slightly as if telling her to continue.

“Moreover, her passion for learning is incredible. At this rate, she could quickly learn the knowledge that should be acquired by the age of a young lady.”

Having spoken her mind, Lady Noyer once again observed the duke’s mood.

It was already widely known throughout the mansion that Duke Adrian adored Rosette dearly. However, an adopted daughter couldn’t be the same as one’s own child.

‘What if he’s upset about me saying she’s better than Young Master Daniel?’

But contrary to her worries, Duke Adrian chuckled. There wasn’t a trace of displeasure. Rather, he now looked like a father delighted by his child’s achievements.

“I’m glad she’s keeping up well. Please continue to take good care of her.”

“But, Your Grace.”

“What is it? Is there a problem?”

“Well……”

Lady Noyer hesitated before speaking.

“It’s good that the young lady has a high enthusiasm for learning, but it seems a bit excessive.”

“Excessive?”

“She had already studied words in advance without my instruction.”

The duke, who had unconsciously smiled fondly, hardened his expression upon seeing Lady Noyer’s serious face.

“Is that not good?”

“No, it’s not bad. If we were to compare good and bad, it’s closer to good. It’s certainly better than Young Master Lucas running away and skipping lessons.”

“Hmm, that’s true.”

“It’s just, how should I put it. The young lady seemed to be anxious about something.”

“Anxious about what?”

“It seemed as if she felt pressured to learn quickly.”

Duke Adrian stopped smiling and fell into thought. Come to think of it, when Rosette first came to the mansion, she had asked:

– What should I do now?

It was as if she thought she had to do something.

At the time, Duke Adrian had casually told her to do nothing and just get chubby.

But looking back, Rosette had been eating diligently at every meal to follow those words.

Although she seemed to enjoy the food, sometimes it looked like she had a sense of mission to ‘become chubby’.

She had also said this to Isabelle, who opposed her adoption:

– I can be good at magic too. If I learn magic, I can take care of Lady Isabelle’s hair, and, um, also keep the tea warm! So please don’t hate me too much.

In retrospect, it wasn’t something to be taken lightly.

“Could that child be feeling pressure?”

“To be honest, it seems so. I’ve taught a few children adopted into noble families before, and they all felt pressure to adapt well. Rosette seems particularly more severe among them.”

“I tried not to put pressure on her, but why would she feel that way? Do you know the reason?”

“Well…”

Lady Noyer pondered for a moment before answering uncertainly.

“It might be her innate personality.”

“I see. You may go now.”

“Yes.”

After Lady Noyer left, Duke Adrian couldn’t concentrate on his documents.

No parent would dislike hearing that their beloved child is a genius. Duke Adrian was also pleased with the genius Rosette was showing.

‘But Rose shouldn’t feel pressured.’

He eventually called his aide and asked.

“Where is Rose now?”

[This is the timeline separator]

Around the time Duke Adrian was looking for Rosette, she was in the study room with Melody. They were there for their magic lesson.

Although they took basic lessons separately, the two children had decided to take magic lessons together.

Rosette had strongly insisted on this, and Celeste had also agreed, saying, “It’s good because studying together increases efficiency.”

“From today, we’re taking lessons together, Melody.”

Rosette whispered, tightly holding both of Melody’s hands.

For the past month, Melody had been staying with her brother Joseph Oster in the employee quarters.

However, thanks to coming to the main mansion occasionally to mingle with Rosette, the two children had grown quite close.

Joseph had been alarmed, saying, “How can the young lady and Melody be friends? I’ll keep Melody in check!” but Duke Adrian had said it was fine.

He was very happy that Rosette had made a friend her own age.

Melody, whose cheeks had filled out a bit over the past month, smiled shyly.

“Yeah. But I’m a little worried. What if the teacher is scary?”

“It’s okay. Elder sister Celeste is kind and nice.”

“Mmm.”

As the two children were chatting, Celeste entered.

“Now, you both know who I am, right?”

That’s how the first lesson began. Celeste sat Rosette and Melody at the desk and wrote her name on the blackboard.

“Yes, elder sister.”

“……”

Unlike Rosette, who answered brightly, Melody kept her lips tightly closed. She was being shy. Celeste saw this and smiled kindly before starting the lesson.

“Now, we’re going to start with the very basics. The most fundamental lesson in magic begins with feeling mana.”

Celeste winked at Rosette.

“Of course, Lady Rosette is already excellent at this, but it’s good to build a solid foundation from the basics, right?”

“Yes, elder sister.”

Celeste let out a light laugh.

“Good. Shall we start now?”

Celeste boldly skipped the theory and went straight to practice. The reason was that explaining complicated theory to eight-year-old kids wouldn’t be understood anyway.

She placed her palm on the children’s flat lower bellies and directly moved the mana. Rosette was calm, but Melody, feeling the unfamiliar sensation of mana for the first time, shrank back and avoided Celeste’s hand.

“It’s okay. It might feel strange at first, but you’ll get used to it soon.”

After soothing Melody, Celeste praised Rosette.

“Your mana core is very well-formed. I wonder how you managed to do this by yourself. As we continue lessons and training together, your mana core will grow bigger and stronger.”

“Yes, elder sister.”

Rosette’s cheeks turned slightly red. As the two-hour lesson was coming to an end.

“If the lesson is over, may I have a moment with Rose?”

The door opened and Duke Adrian entered.

“Papa!”

As Rosette ran towards him with a bright expression, he lifted her up.

After the carriage accident, Rosette felt that she had grown much closer to Duke Adrian. She also realized that he had truly become her father.

“What brings you here?”

“I came to see Rose.”

Duke Adrian gave a slight nod to Celeste and left the study room carrying Rosette. Rosette was puzzled but remained quietly in his arms.

As Duke Adrian walked down the corridor, he asked.

“How are your lessons? I heard from Lady Noyer that you seem to be keeping up well.”

Rosette’s already flushed face turned even redder. Feeling somehow embarrassed, Rosette lowered her head and mumbled.

“It’s fun. And I’m working hard.”

“Yes, it seems so.”

The duke, who had now entered the garden, sat Rosette on a swing. Rosette still kept her head down, dangling her legs.

“But Rose, aren’t you pushing yourself too hard?”

“Pushing myself?”

“Yes. I heard you mastered all the letters in two days and did a lot of preparation in advance.”

Rosette exclaimed her wish.

“I want to quickly become someone suitable for the Adrian family!”

“I don’t understand why you’re saying that.”

Duke Adrian stroked Rosette’s head.

“You are already a wonderful Adrian.”

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
