The Youngest Daughter of the Swordsmanship Family Turned Great Mage (32 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 7
Rogette hunched her shoulders.
‘Does she dislike me being here?’
Perhaps it was understandable. In the past, Elisha had also shown such clear signs of displeasure.
Back then, Elisha’s hostility had hurt deeply. But perhaps because she had experienced it once before, it didn’t sting quite as badly now.
‘I’m not hurt.’
No, that was a lie. Negative emotions never grew familiar, no matter how often experienced, and her heart still ached with cold sorrow.
Yet there was one thing different from before: she could now speak confidently to Isabelle.
“I’ll really work hard.”
Rogette raised her voice as much as possible, though it kept wanting to shrink.
“I can do magic well, too! Once I learn magic, I can take care of your hair, Lady Isabelle, and, um—also keep your tea nice and warm! So please don’t dislike me too much.”
These were the very tasks Elisha had once assigned her in the past.
But as Isabelle listened, her expression grew strange. Folding her arms, she snapped crossly,
“Just what do you think I am?”
“…Huh?”
“You think I’d treat you like a servant? And who said I disliked you?”
“…?”
Isabelle sighed deeply in frustration at Rogette, who could only blink in confusion.
“Listen carefully, kid. The Adrian family is a renowned swordsmanship lineage that has produced knights for generations.”
“Yes…”
“People who know how to handle delicate, sensitive kids like you are few and far between.”
Did that mean she wanted to drive her away? Rogette had finally gathered her courage and come all this way. She clutched her skirt tightly in both hands.
“Even so, is that alright? Every morning, knights will be training noisily in the practice yard and such.”
“It’s fine!”
“I’m saying this isn’t the quiet, prim noble household you probably imagine.”
“I’m…”
Rogette spoke with firm conviction.
“I still like it!”
Isabelle scrutinized Rogette sharply from head to toe, clearly skeptical.
This time, Rogette muttered in a much smaller voice,
“I really can do it. I’ll work hard…”
“Do I look worried you might fail? I…”
I?
As Rogette blinked, trying to guess the unfinished words, Isabelle exhaled another heavy sigh.
“Fine. If you insist, you’ll experience it yourself.”
“Really?”
“And remember this.”
Isabelle bent down to meet Rogette’s eyes.
“You don’t need to manage my hair or adjust my tea’s temperature—and you absolutely shouldn’t.”
“But…”
“From now on, you’re my younger sister and a member of House Adrian. Be more confident. If you don’t, I’ll tell Father to send you back. Understood?”
“…Yes.”
“Answer louder.”
“…Yes!”
“Good.”
Daniel and Duke Adrian exchanged meaningful smiles as they listened to their conversation.
Hearing their exchange, Isabelle huffed and ruffled Rogette’s hair with her hand—rougher than her demure face suggested.
“And from now on, call me ‘older sister.’ What’s this ‘Lady Isabelle’ nonsense?”
“Can I really call you ‘older sister’…?”
“Isn’t that obvious? That idiot over there calls Lucas ‘older brother.’”
“Why am I the idiot!”

Lucas grumbled but soon grinned and approached Rogette.
“I’m so happy to have a little sister! But we need to go to morning training now. Let’s meet again at breakfast, okay?”
“Uh…?”
“Bye!”
Lucas and Isabelle left the reception room with disciplined strides. Daniel, who had been smiling throughout, also departed, saying he needed to train.
After that storm-like moment passed, only Rogette and Duke Adrian remained in the reception room.
Rogette smoothed her tousled hair with her fingers and glanced cautiously at the Duke.
“Um…”
The Duke gently fixed her hair for her. Rogette mumbled in a dazed voice,
“So… it’s really settled like this?”
“Is there a problem?”
“No…”
She had expected more resistance. Yet neither Daniel nor Lucas showed any sign of opposition, and even Isabelle, who had scrutinized her so critically, seemed to have accepted her—for now.
“It’s just… all so sudden.”
“It always feels that way when your surroundings change.”
Duke Adrian lightly brushed her cheek and straightened his back.
“The head butler will show you to your room. Rest until breakfast. I must go give orders for training.”
“Wait.”
Rogette caught the Duke’s sleeve as he turned to leave. For a brief moment, she feared reprimand for her impertinence—but fortunately, Duke Adrian simply smiled and turned back to her.
“Is there something you need?”
“Well…”
Rogette’s eyes darted around before she asked cautiously,
“What should I do from now on?”
“Hmm?”
The Duke gave a short, puzzled reply. Rogette’s voice grew even quieter as she mumbled,
“I mean… what am I supposed to do here from now on?”
The Duke, listening carefully, gently stroked her head with his large hand.
“I’m sorry, my dear. I don’t quite understand.”
“I can do everything well! I’ll study magic hard, and history too. Also…”
“Wait, wait, child.”
Duke Adrian gently interrupted her.
“You don’t need to do anything at all.”
“Huh?”
This time Rogette’s already-large eyes widened even further in bewilderment. Duke Adrian emphasized again,
“You truly don’t need to do anything, my dear.”
“But…”
Rogette recalled the day she’d been adopted into the Dallas family.
From the very first day, Marquis Dallas had insisted she must be perfect. His goal was to mold her into the greatest mage.
She had worked and worked to meet their expectations.
Her only wish was to earn her family’s love. When she mastered difficult spells, Marquis Dallas would praise her in a rare, gentle tone.
—“Good. Well done.”
Praise granted only when she excelled. Strangely, the more praise she received, the thirstier she became—and so her obsession grew.
Perhaps that was why she’d assumed Duke Adrian must have some specific purpose in bringing her here.
But now he said she didn’t need to do anything? What did that even mean?
Seeing Rogette blinking in confusion, Duke Adrian added an explanation.
“For now, just settle in and rest comfortably. We’ll gradually begin magic and basic lessons once you’ve adjusted.”
“But…”
“For now, just live like a child—do whatever you want freely.”
Noticing her thin wrists, he added playfully,
“And it’d be even better if you eat well and grow nice and plump.”

With that, he entrusted her to the head butler and left the reception room.
‘Plump…’
Rogette stared blankly at her frail frame. At the orphanage, she hadn’t realized how small she was—food had been scarce, and everyone had been tiny.
But the Adrian family members were notably tall and broad, making her seem even smaller by comparison.
Still…
‘I’ll eat well.’
She’d surely grow taller, too. Now that she’d been adopted into House Adrian, maybe she could even learn swordsmanship.
Thus, Rogette’s first goal upon entering the Adrian household became “eating well.”
[This is the timeline separator]“I shall escort you to your room, Miss Rogette.”
The gray-haired head butler bowed deeply to her. Rogette nearly flailed her hands in surprise but quickly remembered her new status and straightened her posture.
“Yes—I mean, okay.”
The butler smiled approvingly and led the way. Rogette followed him down corridors and up stairs.
“You may call me Sebastian.”
“Okay, Sebastian.”
“Once you’re settled, I’ll assign you a personal maid. Until then, maids will take turns attending to you.”
“Okay.”
“Everyone has been looking forward to meeting you.”
Really? Rogette was skeptical, but she nodded without showing it. Fortunately, her expression must have been composed, for Sebastian guided her to her room without further comment.
“This will be your room from now on. It’s right next to Miss Isabelle’s.”
“Okay.”
“We prepared it in a hurry and couldn’t arrange new furniture in time. We’ll gradually redecorate to suit your preferences. Please, go ahead.”
Rogette followed Sebastian inside and clapped both hands over her mouth to stifle the gasp escaping her lips.
‘Is this really my room?’
It was so perfect she wondered if they’d led her to the wrong place.
The room was easily five times larger than the one she’d had at the Dallas estate, lavishly furnished with pieces so grand they made her jaw drop.
Warm sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading to the terrace, and atop a bed large enough for five adults lay a mountain of plush toys.
She told herself she was too old to get excited over dolls—but failed. Before she knew it, she asked in an eager voice,
“Are all these really mine?”
Sebastian answered with a warm smile,
“Yes. If there’s anything you dislike…”
“No!”
Rogette answered quickly.
“I love it! I love it so much!”
From the moment she stepped inside, her heart pounded so fast she worried it might leap out of her chest.
To hide her racing heartbeat, she subtly stepped away from Sebastian. Misinterpreting her gesture, he politely stepped back.
“I’ve taken too much of your time. Please rest—you must be tired. I’ll send the maids.”
After he left, Rogette collapsed onto the plush-looking bed. It was even softer than it appeared, stuffed full of down. She rolled around hugging a plump rabbit plush.
In this moment, she felt so happy she didn’t even wonder, ‘Do I deserve this?’
How long had she been like that? A cautious knock sounded.
“Miss, may I come in?”
She hurriedly jumped off the bed at the voice from outside. Though no one could see her, she felt oddly embarrassed.
“Come in—uh, come on in.”
Three maids entered as the door opened—one with reddish-brown hair, one with brown, and one with black. They bowed respectfully to Rogette, who tried her best to appear composed.
“A pleasure to meet you, Miss.”
But their next words left her unable to stay calm.
“We’ll assist you with your bath.”
A bath? Did they mean she had to undress in front of them? Rogette shrank back again.
“I, um…”
“Yes, Miss?”

“I’d like to bathe alone…”
“Pardon?”
“I’m not a child. I’ve always washed myself before, and…”
Only then did she realize noble young ladies typically received bathing assistance.
But she simply couldn’t summon the courage to show her scrawny, unimpressive body.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.

I knew the sister would be nice. I felt it even more hc her personality is rather blunt. I hope the baby gets used to her new house soon
