The Youngest Daughter of the Swordsmanship Family Turned Great Mage (32 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 15
After breakfast, Rogette began preparing for the party.
After washing up by herself, the maids started fussing over her in earnest. They dressed her in a pure white gown and adorned her loosely braided hair with flowers.
“You look absolutely beautiful!”
“Oh my, how utterly charming you are!”
Heartened by the maids’ excited chatter, Rogette looked into the mirror—and gasped in surprise.
‘I look like a princess.’
The flowing gown and glittering accessories sparkled even more brilliantly than those Elisha Dallas had worn on her birthday.
Her face still seemed plain, but at this point, it was certainly presentable.
The maids took Rogette’s shyly blushing hands and led her to the greenhouse situated in the garden.
Though it was winter, the greenhouse bloomed with a variety of flowers. In the center stood three large round tables, each set with at least fifteen pieces of cutlery.
Rogette turned to Joan with a puzzled look and asked,
“Are guests coming?”
“I wonder.”
Joan gave a meaningful smile. Just then, the impeccably dressed members of the Adrian household entered.
Lucas spotted Rogette and rubbed his eyes hard.
“Wow! Squirt! You look amazing!”
“Really?”
“Yeah! You might even be prettier than Isabelle!”
Rogette didn’t believe him. Isabelle Adrian was the most beautiful person she’d ever seen in her life. Indeed, before she’d turned back time, Isabelle had been famously known as the greatest beauty in society.
It was absurd to claim anyone could surpass her.
Embarrassed, Rogette quickly changed the subject.
“Who else is coming?”
“Hmm… I wonder who it could be?”
Lucas grinned playfully toward the greenhouse entrance. At that moment—
“Rose!”
A familiar voice, one that shouldn’t have been heard here, rang out. Simultaneously, someone came running toward the greenhouse.
Rogette’s eyes widened as she recognized the person.
“Jane?”
For a moment, Rogette thought she was seeing things. And for good reason—Jane looked utterly different from the last time they’d met.
It wasn’t that her features had changed, but she was now neatly groomed from head to toe.
Her clothes, though not as fine as Rogette’s, were clean and of good quality. Her perpetually messy hair was now neatly brushed and braided down both sides. Even her previously unwashed, grubby face was spotless.
Perhaps that was why Rogette briefly entertained the absurd notion that this Jane before her wasn’t real, but a figment of her imagination.
Seeing Rogette hesitate to approach the unfamiliar-looking Jane, Duke Adrian gently nudged her back.
“Go on. Weren’t you missing her?”
Pushed forward by his hand, Rogette took one hesitant step—then broke into a run toward Jane.
“Unnie!”
Jane swept her into a tight embrace.
“Rose, I’ve missed you so much!”
“Are you really Jane Unnie?”
Rogette’s voice trembled with emotion.
“Of course it’s me!”
Jane cupped Rogette’s cheeks with both hands, examining her closely.
“Wow, our Rose looks like a whole new person! You’re stunning!”
Her own voice was thick with tears.
“Have you been well, my little sister?”
“Yes! Have you?”
“I’ve been fine. Ever since you left, Duke Adrian has generously supported the orphanage—there’s plenty of food, and everyone’s doing well.”
“But how did you end up here?”
“The Duke invited all of us for your birthday!”
“All of us?”
Trending
“Yes, all of us!”
Jane gestured behind her, and the children who’d been waiting outside the greenhouse rushed in en masse.
“Rose Unnie!”
“Unnie!”
“Rogette!”
In an instant, Rogette was surrounded by the children she’d lived with at the orphanage. As she looked into each of their faces, she finally burst into tears.
“I’ve missed you all so much.”
A few mischievous children laughed at her crying, while the more sensitive ones began sobbing along with her.
Still hugging the children and weeping, Rogette glanced toward Duke Adrian standing a few steps away and whispered silently.
‘Thank you, Your Grace.’
She could swear, without exaggeration, that this was the best birthday gift of her entire life.
[This is the timeline separator]Rogette spent a joyful time with the children. They ate delicacies lovingly prepared by the Adrian household’s head chef, played and ran around the garden, and returned to the orphanage by evening.
“Take care.”
“You too, Unnie.”
After this now-familiar farewell, Rogette headed back to her room.
As she changed into pajamas with the maids’ help and was about to climb into bed, Duke Adrian entered after a soft knock.
“Oh, Your Grace.”
Rogette hurried over, and the Duke gently stroked her cheek.
“Did you enjoy your birthday?”
Without realizing it, Rogette chirped excitedly,
“Yes! It was so much fun! Truly the best present ever. Thank you!”
“Actually, there’s one more gift.”
“Another one?”
Duke Adrian handed her the document he’d been holding. At the top it read “Adoption Certificate,” followed by details of Rogette’s personal information.
“Do you understand what this is?”
Though her past memories had taught her to read, Rogette pretended ignorance and shook her head—after all, the original Rogette wouldn’t have known how to read.
Duke Adrian explained gently,
“This document proves that you’ve been officially adopted into the Adrian family.”
“So…?”
“From now on, you are officially Rogette Adrian, Rose.”
“Oh…”
Rogette silently mouthed the name “Rogette Adrian,” then murmured,
“I’ll really do my best from now on, Your Grace.”
“You don’t need to try so hard. Just be yourself.”
“Yes.”
“But, Rose.”
“Yes?”
Clearing his throat with a “hem-hem,” Duke Adrian asked,
“How long will you keep calling me ‘Your Grace’?”
Confused by his meaning, Rogette just blinked. The Duke added,
“Aren’t we truly family now?”
“Family…?”
Still not grasping his intent, Rogette suddenly realized what he meant and her eyes widened.
‘Could it be…?’
After a brief hesitation, she whispered a word she’d never once uttered in either her past life or this one.
“Father…?”
“Hmm.”
But Duke Adrian’s expression seemed vaguely dissatisfied.
‘Maybe that’s not it.’

Marquis Dallas had always insisted she address him precisely as “Your Grace.” Perhaps, even as Duke Adrian’s adopted daughter, calling him “Father” was overstepping.
Just as Rogette was about to correct herself back to “Your Grace,” the Duke spoke first.
“Is there nothing else besides ‘Father’?”
“Huh?”
“There must be another word with the same meaning.”
Another word meaning “father”…
Rogette searched her mind for synonyms and mumbled without much feeling,
“Daddy…?”
This time, Duke Adrian smiled contentedly.
“Yes, Rose.”
“But…”
Daniel Oppa, Lucas Oppa, and Isabelle Unnie all call him “Father,” don’t they?
Rogette couldn’t bring herself to ask. Sensing her unspoken thought, Duke Adrian answered anyway.
“I just wanted to hear my youngest call me ‘Daddy.’ Do you dislike it?”
“No!”
Rogette blurted out before he’d even finished—her body reacting before her mind could catch up.
Surprised by her uncharacteristic eagerness, Duke Adrian’s eyes widened slightly. Feeling suddenly shy, Rogette mumbled,
“I… like ‘Daddy.’”
It was an unfamiliar term, but not unpleasant—just unfamiliar.
Daddy. Daddy. Daddy.
Rogette silently repeated the word with only her lips, like a toddler barely learning to speak.
Watching her, Duke Adrian suddenly scooped her up into his arms. Startled, Rogette let out a little squeak and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.
“Would you mind saying it out loud instead?”
Rogette shyly lowered her head and whispered,
“Daddy.”
“Yes.”
Duke Adrian smiled, laid her gently onto the bed, and tucked the blanket up to her chin.
“Sleep well, my youngest daughter.”
After Duke Adrian left the room, Rogette pulled the blanket over her head and kicked her feet excitedly. Her throat tickled, and her toes wiggled.
“Rogette Adrian.”
She whispered the name with a faint smile.
Thus, the child who had once been Rogette Dallas had, by reversing time, fully and perfectly become Rogette Adrian.
[This is the timeline separator]Rogette stood still with arms outstretched, blinking silently. Before her, Isabelle sat on the sofa, flipping through a catalog and giving brisk instructions.
“That color is too dull for Rose. Choose something brighter.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
At Isabelle’s firm command, the staff from Madame Wide’s salon sprang into action. They swiftly removed the fabric draped over Rogette and wrapped her in a bright yellow one instead.
Isabelle studied Rogette up and down with an unreadable, blank expression.
‘I guess it really doesn’t suit me.’
Rogette, who had secretly liked the yellow, fidgeted with her fingers beneath the fabric.
Come to think of it, at the Dallas household, she’d only ever worn dark clothes. She’d sometimes envied Elisha’s bright gowns, but had given up after Elisha told her, “If you wear bright colors, your dull face will look even darker.”
Apparently, Elisha had been right—bright colors did make her complexion look worse.
Rogette glanced sideways at the mirror.
It had already been a month since she’d come to the Adrian estate. Much had changed for her during that time.
First, eating and sleeping well had added some healthy weight—her cheeks, once hollow, were now slightly rounder, and her previously flat stomach, once showing ribs, now had soft padding.
She wasn’t “chubby” by any stretch, but the improvement was visible.
And that wasn’t all. Thanks to Joan and the maids’ diligent care day and night, her rough skin had become smooth and supple.
Her perpetually pale face now held a healthy flush, and her once-brittle, broom-like hair now gleamed with vitality.
Had Jane or the other children seen her now, they might have doubted whether she was truly Rogette.
Ironically, even compared to her time at the Dallas household, her face now looked different.

Though she’d been adopted into the Dallas family, her treatment there had been little better than a servant’s.
She’d been given food, clothing, and shelter, but as she hadn’t received the care due to a noble young lady, she’d only gained a bit of weight—her rough skin and dry hair had shown no improvement.
Perhaps that was why her new self felt so unfamiliar.
‘I thought I’d improved a lot, but I guess not.’
Just as she thought this, Isabelle gave a small nod, her expression still neutral.
“Make one casual dress in this fabric. You know the design?”
Madame Wide, who had been pointing through the catalog page by page, quickly began sketching on a notepad.
“I’ll prepare a design we’ve never showcased before.”
“Make sure the waist isn’t too tight, and design it for ease of movement.”
“Understood.”
Isabelle went on to order multiple outfits—daywear, loungewear, play clothes, sleepwear, and more. Rogette, astonished, waved her hands.
“There’s really no need to go that far…”
“Why not?”
“If I eat a lot, I’ll grow taller and… get chubby…”
“Again with that?”
Isabelle shook her head wearily, as if she’d heard it all before.

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
