“Why… Why did you do it…”
A chilly voice fell over Rozete’s head. Slumped with her head down, Rozete struggled to lift her gaze at the sound of the voice.
Her vision was already blurry, so she couldn’t see the man’s face standing in front of her, but she knew immediately who he was.
Joshua Ernhardt. The first prince of the Ernhardt Empire. He collapsed in front of Rozete.
His eyes, red and swollen with burst blood vessels, were overflowing with bitter tears.
“Why did you do it?”
For the first time in her 20 years, Rozete saw a grown man cry like this, especially one who was always perfect in front of others, the prince.
Cold and often cynical.
“Why did you kill Master Adrian and Daniel? What crime did they commit?”
The man who didn’t even cry when he lost his mother, the former empress, was now sobbing like a child.

That touched something deep inside Rozete. She barely moved her bruised and torn lips.
“I… I…”
But she couldn’t say anything. Just like his words, it was Rozete who had killed Adrian, the Duke and his close friend, Daniel Adrian.
The curse on Rozete’s heart and her body being controlled by the orders of Duke Dallas were no excuse.
It wasn’t her intention, but Rozete had undoubtedly killed him.
She couldn’t say anything in the end. She couldn’t bear to see Joshua in pain and lowered her head again.
The cold stone floor was stained with his tears. Rozete silently endured the raw rage directed at her.
After a while, the man stood up. His face, having composed his emotions, was bitterly cold.
“Your execution date has been set.”
Perhaps because she expected it, Rozete wasn’t much surprised by his words. But what came next unsettled her.

“Your death won’t bring them back, but it can honor their souls. If you have even a shred of guilt, repent until your last moment.”
Those words struck Rozete’s heart once more. She bit her lip, holding back the emotions surging in her throat.
She wanted to cry, but she didn’t want to in front of the man. She was a sinner, and crying in front of him was not permitted.
The man looked at Rozete with an unreadable expression, then turned and left the cell. In the dim moonlit prison, Rozete was left alone.
Finally, she let out the tears she had been holding back. Fresh tears fell over the drying streaks on her face.
“I… I…”
She vividly remembered the moment 10 days ago when she killed Duke Adrian and Daniel.
Wasn’t it painful to be used by the Duke?
Even though he knew Rozete came to kill him, he couldn’t easily attack her.
You remind me of my daughter. It’s not too late. Turn back. You don’t belong in this.

It was the first time for such an encounter. Many had died at Rozete’s hands, but they either begged on their knees or cursed her.
He was the first to say such things to her.
Yet, Rozete killed Duke Adrian. Perhaps it was easy because he had no intention of attacking her.
From the moment she killed him, Rozete continually regretted her bloodstained life.
If only she could go back, she wouldn’t have joined hands with Duke Dallas…
‘Go back?’
Rozete had a lightning-like realization and bit her tongue. She began drawing a magic circle with the blood flowing from her mouth. Her hands and feet were bound, leaving her no choice.
The blood wasn’t flowing well, so she bit her tongue several times, even as her consciousness wavered, but she stubbornly completed the magic circle.
A forbidden magic now, because no one ever succeeded. It was among the ancient texts that Duke Dallas had forced her to read in the past.
Learn this magic circle in case of emergencies.
It seemed that the Duke intended to use the time-reversal magic as a last resort if his plans failed.
‘Duke Dallas never thought I would use it this way.’
And she wasn’t even sure if it was actually possible.
Rozete collapsed, activating the magic circle.
The light bursting from the magic circle enveloped her. Rozete looked at her now faint tear stains and made a vow.
If she could go back, this time she would definitely…
When she opened her eyes again, she saw a ceiling that was both unfamiliar yet strangely familiar.
Looking at the ceiling, cracked as if it could collapse at any moment, Rozete soon remembered where she was.
It was the orphanage where she had lived before being adopted by the Duke Dallas family.
‘Did I really come back?’
Confused, Rozete examined her body. Short arms and legs, hands as small as maple leaves.

Her body was still skinny as before, but overall, she was smaller. Even at a glance, she seemed like a child, not an adult.
‘Was it really possible?’
She hadn’t been sure of success when she activated the magic circle, so she couldn’t tell if she had actually turned back time or was just dreaming.
As Rozete was feeling her cheeks to determine if this was a dream or reality, the door slowly opened.
“Rose, are you still asleep?”
A child entered, whom Rozete immediately recognized with her auburn hair and green eyes.
“Jane?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
