Saturday morning dawned, the day they had decided to set off on their trip. Si Hyeon hummed a tune as she checked her suitcase.

“Swimsuit, hat, charger, sunscreen…”

It was still the end of August. Though Seoul’s sweltering heat had eased since mid-August, Jeju Island would surely have perfect weather for swimming right now.

“You’re that excited?”

Tae Ha, who had arrived early to pick up Si Hyeon, asked with a smile. Wearing a sky-blue piqué shirt and light beige chino pants instead of his usual suit, he unusually looked his actual age.

“Of course I am!”

Every summer vacation, Uncle’s family always went to their seaside villa for a holiday, but they had never once taken Si Hyeon along. She always stayed home with the housekeeper ajumma.

Truthfully, she hadn’t really wanted to go anyway, but she couldn’t describe how envious she’d been watching A Hyeon return sunburnt black, hand in hand with her mother and father.

So this family trip was her first ever. Honestly, she was happier about finally having a family to travel with than the trip itself—and even more so because that family consisted of Tae Ha, Hee Sun, and Leon.

She was also incredibly thrilled at the thought of actually riding a private jet, something she’d only ever seen in movies.

“I made a promise with Mi Ju! I’ll take a hundred photos onboard!”

Tae Ha burst out laughing.

Wearing a short jumpsuit that reached her thighs and a wide-brimmed hat, Si Hyeon skipped out of the house with Tae Ha, her steps dancing.

“What about Aunt? Shouldn’t we pick her up too?”

“Don’t worry. Father said he’d bring her.”
