Even after sending Tae Ha home late that night, Soo Yeon couldn’t fall asleep easily, lost in all sorts of thoughts.

Her heart swelled with joy at the thought that her son had finally called her “Mother,” yet she also felt conflicted about the father who was probably lying in a hospital bed at this very moment.

Soo Yeon finally managed to drift off just before dawn, only to wake up the next morning to the sound of someone knocking on her door.

Wondering if it might be Tae Ha, she quickly got up and opened the door—only to find a quick-delivery courier standing there with a large box.

“What’s this?”

“It’s from Mr. Yoon Tae Ha.”

After the courier left, Soo Yeon opened the box. A gasp escaped her lips as she lifted out an enormous bouquet of roses.

“Good heavens…!”

Flowers sent by my son.

As she inhaled their fragrance, her heart overflowed with happiness. Even the lingering resentment from the unpleasant incident a few days ago, caused by another bouquet of flowers, vanished instantly.

So elated was she that it took her quite a while to notice a white envelope tucked inside the box along with the bouquet.

Wondering if it might be a letter, she opened it with a racing heart—only to find, to her surprise, a check inside.

Staring at the amount for a long while, unable to close her mouth, Soo Yeon finally called Tae Ha with trembling hands.
